I heard the older Ur-quattro (blue) strut upper strut mounts and bearings fit on your car. And I would go with polyurethane bushings all around. But that's just me! Cheers! Greg!

Merry Christmas buddy!! Yup... she was in a bad state... I'll tell you what, she drives like a brand new car now. Better thn when I got her.... Wonder if it's been loose all the time? Well that lead me to see that the strut bearings and bushings are toast..... Have a good kit out there for replacement? Merry Christmas to all!

Audi 80 Overheating - 2.0l 1992
Published (2009-12-17 11:48:00)
Hello, I've recently bought a J reg Audi 80 2.0. I have a problem with it overheating, it's getting to over 110 degrees Basically, i've flushed the radiator through and it all seems fine, no blockages, however the water pipe to the radiator is getting hot but the water pipe taking water from the radiator is stone cold. The heating works fine which makes me think that it's not the water pump?? The fan is not cutting in...

G11 or G12 for b4 90??
Published (2009-12-17 15:09:00)
ok guys I'm more confused than ever. Called a few dealerships in seattle, spokane, and los angeles and getting mixed info. Looking to do a timing belt on my 1995 b4 90 and on blauparts.com with my serp. belt being 1866mm it shows the timing belt kit with G12 Pink Audi 90 Cabriolet Timing Belt - Audi 90 Timing Belt Kit but if I click on fluids with my car selected it tells me G11 Blue. One dealership told me G12 for for late 97 &...

Holy **** Doug...you are lucky. If that had of broken loose on you...you would be in the ditch and hard. Glad you made it home. That would not be a very merry christmas if you didn't get it home. On a lighter side... have a Merry Christmas and a Happy new year and I'll keep in touch on the flip side. Cheers! Greg!

Did the compression test, great results, al cylinders are good and the values don't vary more than 10 PSI to each other. So I am ruling out bad compression is causing the rough idle. I changed the plugs cables to the original ones and it made a huge difference, I think the NGK cables I got were no good for the engine. I will buy a set from Audi after Xmas, when I get some cash and let ...

Sounds like it's time to change the thermostat and do a complete high flow flush and refill. It could also be clogged up in the heater core somewhat. But I suspect the T-stat needs changing and do the complete flush and refill of the entire cooling system.

This is funny...we are both on audiworld and here...LOL. I'm using the blue type for my 20v because it is a brand new rebuilt engine and brand new cooling system installed. I've always been told that the blue G11 is what should be in these older audi's as that is what it came with from the dealer. But it might be different for your engine. Just make sure you get it right. Good luck!

hahaha...Doug you make me laugh bro. Sorry though, I don't have any of those tools to do the timing belt and such. I was lazy and had my engine builder do it for me...I know I am so ashamed. Anyway's good call on the audi20v.net to help you out with that job. It is very straight forward. If you need any help just haller and I'll come a callin'. Oh BTW I just put my brand spankin new motor in the...
