QUOTE (Master_Scythe @ Dec 12 2009, 02:21 PM) Darklife i disagree. The BEST weapon\tool is hijackthis. nothing is better than manual removal. there are thousands of variants of every malware out there. for removing the 'husk' tools are great, to actually stop them in the first place, nothing beats a brain and a log file. Hijackthis me! You're entitled to your opinion. My opinion is that the...

Then I'll finally be able to get away from Telstra. Two reasons, One - Telstra on the whole have proven to be incompetent at dealing with problems/or changes to my accounts over the years. Sure there are...

Actually, seeing the new TPG plans, I think I'll move to them. $50 for 120gb and shaped to 512/512, that's pretty darn cool. How would I go about my phone line but? Can I churn or anything?

What sort of modem/router do you have? I'd say it would work. Most likely your current problem is driver related issues. I had the same when I swapped to win7 - I have an outdated dlink wirless card which doesn't work with win7. Running a fuck off long cable to my room fixed the problem though :p Cheers

If you did your research, you'd have quickly found that TPG have the worst support out of the major Australian ISPs. They're cheap, have high quota plans, and depending on the exchange, are decently fast. But...

TPG are good if you want heaps of quota, very little support, and so-so reliability. Internode are good if you want heaps of support, heaps of reliability, and a decent amount of quota.

What if you assign static addresses on each desktop on a different subnet without a gateway address, and connect to each other via the static address rather than hostname? It kinda makes sense in my head... Personally I'd just buy a Gigabit switch.

I am using Bigpond cable as my primary internet connection, TPG adsl as a backup / test / large downloads connection. (Yes, I have both) It really depends what you want to do on your internet connection. If you want to download large files, maybe look at ADSL if it's available. The prices on Bigpond cable are not worth it. If you know you get high sync speeds on an ADSL connection, look at...

Yes I know it is a standard. Screeny from my lappy which only does B and G apparently. So it may appear the options are card or driver dependant.
