I think he could spend some time in AAA next year just to get some experience. I hate to see him waste away on the bench without getting any playing time.

the only way this is true, is if they move Lowe. So there must be interested teams at a reduced salary, or something along those lines. thats bad news for derek.. this rumor.

Bay does not play D minue defense. He plays C to C+ defense, I don't care what those zone statistics say. And, he has enough range & is a smart enough player to play a decent Fenway Park defense. Cameron as a CF has some value, to move Mc Louth who is decent in CF but not outstanding to LF and sign Cameron for CF for one or two yrs might make sense. For positions like LF, you take offense over defense. CF is a defensive osition....

I don't think so. It was either Mac, Yunel, or Diaz. I think Prado was very good, but he's not going to be #1. Maybe 3. Maybe 2.

I would not give up any of those, they are our future. They can have, KK, Lowe or Vasquez but not the young guns.

If both playing healthy, here's how I would see it. Defense - Schafer Power - Diaz for now Average - Diaz OBP - Even Speed - Schafer

St. Louis will probably give him an incentive laden one-year deal. I don't think he could get anything better.

Chipper may be able to play 1b, but it just isn't going to happen. He has already said that he doesn't want to play on the right side of the field and he doesn't want to be a DH. Also playing 1b wouldn't be less wear and tear on his body, in fact it would probably be more because he would have to stretch for balls thrown in the dirt, or stretch on close plays with the runner. This would be ...

At this point it looks like it will most likely be relegated to 4th outfielder duty at best. FA will most likely be in left, Nate will be in center, and Heyward will end up in right. That still leaves Diaz as a 4th outfielder for Schafer to compete with. Someone will have to get traded/have a serious injury/perform badly for Jordan to get a shot at any significant playing time.

He's an elite young player. It would take a very big haul to get him. I don't think we have the pieces that we'd be willing to give up. Plus them shedding payroll means dealing the expensive guys, not young cheap talent like Votto.

Personally, I hope its true. I'm a believer in Vazquez despite some of the negatives some have claimed about him. Actually, it may have been one of ATL's better moves to get him, he rewarded ATL with a very good year, so why would we trade him ? True, in theory he'll bring more, but who will be willing to part with a hitter as good as Vaz is as a pitcher? I can't imagine a trade that could ...

I wonder if we can get some bullpen help too. Not that the Marlins have a great bullpen, but Javy being one of the better pitchers last year seems a little lopsided.

The Braves would likely have to offer their FAs arbitration to receive the draft picks. The player might accept. You can't just let them go and get the picks.

The guy does look really talented. But why do I get the feeling that he will be traded away - this winter? My gut tells me, the Braves are looking at the flush of #1 picks they will be getting from the free agents and arbitration from their team (i.e. Soriano, Gonzo and LaRoche). They'd get at least 3 first round picks, and as much as 6. The talent pool in pitching next June seems very ...

If the Dodgers are willing to give up one of the best hitters to ever play the game for our worst pitcher, then sure!
