TUPE law continually evolves so is only as good as case law in reality. Your company should have a solicitor on the books looking into this I suspect. In terms of pensions, they are not protected under TUPE legislation so if you have a better pension you might need to negotiate separately on this.

I took a quick look at the University of Limerick http://www.ul.ie/main/courses/ and also the Cork Institute of Technology websites. I could not see any but I think there must be some courses there to suit you. I would say that the best thing to do is to phone the colleges directly and ask to speak to somebody in the Schools of Science and they should be able to advise you towards something ...

The University of Limerick has a mathematical sciences degree which includes a computer programming option in first year and then the option to specialise in computing if desired in 3rd and 4th year.

Under TUPE legislation should you move to the new company your terms and conditions must be protected (inc. length of service). The only matter not covered is pensions if you have one.

The company don't have to allow it, and many won't unless the reason for it not being taken was their fault, ie you asked but they refused due to business reasons. If you had the opportunity to use it but didn't, then they can say tough luck.
