I use online savings accounts. I have found few negatives with online accounts. The most glaring con is that you can't simply withdraw or deposit money as easily with an online account. However, since many transfers and payments are done online now anyway (whether with an online bank or your local bank), the ability to deposit or withdraw cash immediately from your savings account isn't that big a deal. Online, you simply...

What type of return are you getting with your current savings account? I would assume you're getting little to no return putting your cash in a standard savings account from lets say Wells Fargo or B of A..if so, you're money isn't even keeping up with inflation (3% give or take) --putting money into a CD will yield slightly higher returns but with the economy in such a funk, banks might not offer better than 2% and that's...

Women in the Workplace
Published (2009-11-21 18:51:00)
Women are insane. That's all you need to know. I worked at my first job with a female boss who was hot. She made work pleasant except for when I decided to quit the job, then I learned how the real world works in the whole "you're either with me or against me" attitude and she pretended I didn't exist when I was leaving. My next job the women there treated me like I was their son or something since I look very...

Communicating With Manager
Published (2009-11-23 16:53:00)
I have a virtual position working from my home and my direct manager is 3 hours away from me. I see them once a month either when I go there for meetings, or they come here. My question is, about how often/much should I speak with my manager, should it mainly be via email, talk on the phone once a day, etc.? How often do you talk to your direct manager. Back to top

I enjoy the work that I do very much. It's intellectually stimulating, gives me a sense of accomplishment, provides lots of opportunities for travel, hours are great, etc.
But no fucken way would I do it for free.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but having your own business doesn't mean that you have to work for a living. Usually it means working twice as hard as people with regular jobs.
Thus the expression, "being self-employed means working 80 hours a week for yourself so you don't have to work 40 hours a week for someone else."
