16 week old taking very little milk
Published (2009-12-06 23:23:00)
HI there, Ava is the same, she is 16 weeks and for the past couple of weeks she has been taking a lot less milk than normal. She used to take about 30 oz per day but now only about 20 -25oz. She is still gaining weight so HV said it's fine but I am still worried.

My lil man is 12 weeks this week, I Bf and give him formula...The first few weeks i used to give him more formula coz i doubted my milk was not enough. I remember he used to be unsettled when he wanted to poo,I gave him warm water, infacol but he still struggled, his poo was not hard but pasty and green in color. Since i decided to BF more, he has become better and i have noticed i have more milk too. He only takes formula 1-2 bottles a day (...

Published (2009-12-06 19:05:00)
When Hugo cries he gets all worked up and holds his breath! It normally happens if he doesnt get his milk fast enough or if we put him down to sleep when he doesnt want to. Its starts off as crying fit and within a second hes holding his breath. He hasnt passed out from it yet, well i dont think he has but its really scary. Has anyone got any advice on how we can prevent this? Sometimes he just wakes up when hes in his car seat or pram and...

dry skin

They do say you should stick to natural things until about 6-8 weeks and the midwife at the hospital said Olive Oil works really well for dry skin. My baby has been fine with Johnsons stuff from very early but all babies are different and some might be affected by the chemicals I guess. I only used the baby oil because my mum said it would be fine and mum knows best!!

Well, everything changed last night. Kane was down at 11:45pm, then up at 4am for a feed, then went back down (awake!) at 4:45, and stayed down without crying! I can't believe it! Then, this morning at 8am, he woke up, and when I went to get him, he was asleep again, and is still asleep now, and it's 8:45am here. I really want to have a shower, but I think that he will wake up the minute I go for it. I do use a dummy sometimes,...

Evening ladies, Katie, yes I feel very lucky with Amelia, it might not last of course and up until last week I had been getting up in the early hours to feed her I'm shopping around for a camcorder at the moment, Amelia is doing so many things I think I'll regret it if I don't start capturing some of it to look back on. So if anyone can recommend one I'd be grateful! Dawn, seen your pics, you look fab hun, glad you had a...

Babies can have a few little reactions after their shots..anything from running a temp..to having watery stools. As long as they are eating normally. Just keep an eye on temp (baby tylenol) and baby will want extra cuddles after. Also probably will sleep alot more in the next couple days. xxx

Oh Bless him, that is scary. Don't know how to stop him doing it to start with but if you blow in a baby's face it startles them and they should start to breath again properly. Hope he stops scaring you soon. x

From my recall my lil man started to stay awake during the day from 6 weeks..he is now 11 weeks and 2 days. At night he sleeps longer which is good for me , he wakes up once - twice for feed and i don't wake him for feed like i used to. During the day he has naps and sometimes is annoying coz i cant do much. The problem is end of the day he is so tired and he becomes a headache coz he wants to...

My LO has dry skin around his wrists and ankles and a bit on his tummy. Whats best to use for this if anything? I heard olive oil is good....is this actually the cooking olive oil? I noticed it the day after I gave him a bath. Could this be the cause? I only used water. xxxx

I bet it was the swaddling that did it. Amy will be fine without a night feed I would think and will probably make up for it during the day if she's hungry. Ruby has only slept through a few nights and she's 3 months now. I would try swaddling her again tonight and see what happens. Good luck Jo xx _________________

You poor thing, you must be so exhausted.. Maybe like you said it's her cold that's thrown her a bit. I know when my LO caught a cold he was sooo clingy and was comfort sucking between full feeds. I think he was attached to me for 4 hours non stop at one point So maybe she's feeling icky because of her cold and needs the extra comfort. As for the bottle, that's so tricky. Maybe if ...
