When I get email at work from "my work email", it is always spam and has always been spam. If it's authentically from my work email address, it would have my name in the "from" field. And not the work email address. So, if my work email is joebob@spazoid.wut and my name is Joe Bob, any legitimate email from me would show only "Joe Bob" in the "from" field and not joebob@spazoid.wut.

The downloads of Win 7 RC have build codes on them. At the end of the string of numbers it should say 'x86' if it is 32
bit. One of my downloads is identified like this: 7100.0.090421-1700_x86fre.

quote: In the end, I was able to get the files fine, but that's what confuses me: If the files originally only had Read permission from the original owner, how was I able to get at them just by attaching the drive to a new computer and clicking Yes to a prompt? Seems like a disturbingly easy workaround. Nope, this is entirely by design.
File permissions are completely up to the OS to follow...

Both Robocopy and Xcopy have options for copying only changed files. You could use one of those in conjunction with the Windows
task scheduler. I prefer Robocopy with the /XO option myself. You could also use Robocopy with the /M option to copy only files with the archive bit set. It resets the archive bit after copying.

I use
SyncToy with a scheduled task to do something similar with my WHS, and while the changes aren't "instant" they are close enough for my needs. In my case, I installed the synctoy on my WHS itself for central management of the jobs (I sync stuff on multiple systems) but all of my clients are Win7 so I don't see an issue there.

pumkinut, have you tried installing the Canon software? This may allow you to have your camera recognized after you plug it in via USB. Canon may have a newer version of their software for Win 7 at their support Website.

Is it irony that the error that comes up is "That web page doesn't exist. Let's see if we can help you find what you are looking for." I read Tech-Crunch's review on this and was interested in taking a look at this, but it seems that I'm unable to for now...
