'Yea, that sounds like a decisive Napoleonic victory just like Jena, Austerlitz, Friedland, etc to me.' Who said it was? That seems like a strawman argument since the title of the thread is 'closest' not decisive. Eylau was close, but not decisive, and Essling, as another example, was close but not decisive. My point on the action was that is wasn't close and the Russians took off after the battle as they were in...

Any suggestions where to find information about his misterious and tragical
death? Till now found only such explanations that he 1) was murdered by
members of some secret society 2) throw himself in window when saw prussian
troops on their way to France.

Lets say the Commanders provided the following move orders to me: For this turn Orient's Commander posts a Move of [L1R1] while Victory's Commander post a Move of [111]. Here is a sample of the screenshot all commanders will see AFTER all moves have been plotted and processed.
From this screenshot, commanders will provide their fire orders. Range would be 2 for both ships (minimum hexes ...

Moncey was also an excellent man and a good soldier. He was noted for never attacking anything he could outflank.
Kellermann was a competent army commander and commanded Napoleon's rear areas during the great campaigns.

Lobau's corps, the Young Guard, and two battalions of Old Guard were engaged on the right flank.
The French fought basically outnumbered against Wellington and ...

Wow! That's an awesome history class! Are you a university student?
Given the sparse data, I don't have any worthwhile advice. Sorry. Maybe others with more knowledge of the historical action will have more to offer.
