The original was only watchable if you watched it through the eyes of a 7-year-old boy. Otherwise, it was UNBEARABLY AWFUL. I was 12 and wanted to walk out. And I sat all the way through Under the Rainbow that sat year, so I wasn't a tough critic!

A.O. Scott and Michael Phillips called this movie "junk". Called the directors amateurs. Hated the editing, digital blood, how it was cut, and the stupidity of the fighting sequences. I thought it was funny. Cause I will be seeing this as soon as possible!!!!

Recently watched it. Horror movie or not, this is definitely the most disgusting movie I've ever seen. 300 liters of fake blood in the final scene alone!

Hey, the teenage boys were just there trying to get some, I bet. What's wrong with that? About all they'd have to do is say, "I named it Edward and it glows in the dark" and those teenie-boppers would be fighting to kiss a teenage guy's little vampire

Really? I had heard they were going low-budget on the sequel, which IMO would be stupid as all hell. They made some good coin on the first, and should step up. Hiring Dakota would be a step in the right direction.

El Mariachi is like Clerks, in that if you know the background story, you learn to appreciate the improbable accomplishment. Rodriguez earned the money to start production by spending a month in a pharmaceutical research facility taking crazy drugs with unpredictable results. That's where he met Peter Marquardt, who plays the villain Moco. Marquardt didn't know Spanish! Every line in the movie is...

This movie was just great. Especially the acting.
The story holds pretty close to the book.
Sandra Bullock was fantastic. As well as the kid that played SJ.
It surprisingly grossed $32M this weekend.
