Either Vinegar or bleach and some scraping with a scraper or blades as mentioned above.

That's about it, but they stir up allot more water then a Maxi-jet of the same size. One is a jet of water through a small openning and the other is a Prop. that moves lots and lots of water.

Not sure. Mine can be kind of special, in the olympics kind of way, sometimes. It will do really odd things for no apparent reason. Mine only goes into it's little hole when it's dark or when it's scared....or just because....or it ate too much...or it ate too little.

Thanks for the answers, guys. We decided to make a pine wood unit for two aquariums, a nano-reef with dwarf seahorses(5 gal), and a reef aquarium with two true perculas(38 gal).

Jaybird, No. They are the returns for the pump in the sump. The one in the middle is a aqua clear powerhead. I stopped by my LFS over lunch today and dipped my hand in a tank that had a koralia 4 I believe. I couldn't feel the water movement after about 10-12 inches from the end of the pump. Is this typical or did they just have a bad pump?

I'd say 2 patterns are better, but it will really depend on your rockwork. Tinker with them overtime and watch your corals. They'll let you know what they like.

vinegar and razor blades will get the glass good and clean... it will take several razor blades though if you have alot of coraline on the glass

really depends on who you ask... some qt a week, some 2 weeks, some 4-6... i do 2 weeks minimum on all of my fish, unless i see a problem or potential problem... If you get new fish and they have a disease, then of course youre going to want to keep them in longer to treat them and make sure they are healthy before introducing them to your dt... Thats just how i do it

You could always put the net at the bottom of the pipes (in the sump) and scoot him down that. I had a yellow clown goby take a ride down the overflow and live in the sump for about a week.

Case for Dr. Phil if you ask me. Likely some traumatic experience in his infancy in the ocean. That is a curious habit, even for a hippo. I think they're wierd anyway. Never had one though.

I have heard that clown fish can click. I don't know if you have any. But it is probably a mantis or pistol. I think that if your rock is on the bottom of the tank (not on sand), then you could be fine for a while. I think they dig a lot digging under your LR making it fall. It will be hard to get out. My friend had one that was 4 inches long. It took us 6 months to trap it.

NCPARS/That Fish Place Winter Frag Event This is our 2nd Annual Winter Frag Event in partnership with That Fish Place . Last years event was a great success. TFP provided some great speakers, nice raffle prizes and had some fantastic in-store sales for the event. I'm sure this years event will be just as much fun. Hope to see some of you there. __________________...

Seahorse questions Well, I decided to set up a 38 gallon aquarium for my son. He want to make it a reef aquarium with a pair of true percula clown fish and dwarf seahorses. I plan on setting up a 10 gallon sump, under-gravel filter, and a 404 fluval external canister filter. Basically, my question is: How many dwarf seahorses can he keep in his aquarium? I read that they are about 1.5 ...

I am going from my current 36" 65G reef which has been up for a year to a half to a 96" 240G reef. You guys warned me I would outgrow the 65G but I wouldn't listen, 65 is a lot of gallons right? RIGHT? Anyway, I have decided that I want this tank to have lots of anthias which I have not tried before. I have seen many tanks with harems of these type of fish and I absolutely love the movement ...

The damsel may cause you some problems down the road when adding new fish due to the aggressiveness of it, so you may want to get rid of it. Pajama cardinals are nice fish. They need to be in odd numbered groups of three or more. Very hardy little guys. Reef safe and leave almost, if not everything alone. Gobies are a great group to choose from. Many are non-aggressive such as the ...

I've heard of adding epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) to freshwater tanks to aid in a fish that is constipated but in a saltwater aquarium it will only aid in making your Calcium available to your corals if you have any. Who gave you this information?

Anyone using marine snow? I bought a bottle of Marine Snow for my acro and monit corals, more to just help them grow a bit faster. I haven't noticed it helping either corals much. Would I get a better result from Reef Roids? All this stuff seems to do is help feed hair algae and tube worms. I have a massive amount of small tube ...

Each one of those power heads is supposed to put out 600 gallons an hour. That should be a lot of water movement. i would say something is wrong with your power heads. Why do you think you are not getting very much movement?

Well, about 5 months ago we got a 180G setup. We went on vacation to new jersey for a week, and picked up Base rock on the way home. A few months ago we got $400 in coral. And now were just buying food since fish and corals are stable.

Getting rid of this Algae So i've been dealing with this stuff for about three weeks now. It seems that everytime i physically remove it it comes back a few days later. i don't mind taking out physically, but everytime i do, some sand comes with it which i am concerned about. Is there are particular snail, crab, etc. that would take care of it. I have two skunk shrimp, about 10 ...
