Evo Slave stupid tricks

So after seeing this thread http://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/s...d.php?t=192083 posted here by kzmille(thanks for the heads up) in a previous thread with a leaking after market slave, I took a look to see what mayhem my Evo slave has done in the last 4 years. As can be seen in the pict, mine has started to damage the push rod, but no where near like what that Falco's looked like. The inside of the Evo slave's piston looks similar...

I was informed by another member that these PCM's don't like to have a working coil not grounded to fire. I'd stick with that.

Not tempted to buy it back? Edit: Just seen you started with a Falco, and are happily back with a second Falco.

It seems that the stock pipes are 40mm in diameter. I was planning to use either 48mm or 50,8mm perforated pipe in my conversion. The pipes will connect to a Y-pipe (2x51mm) and exit through a 2½" single pipe. I'm not planning to change the rear of the can, so that will be the bottleneck. Seems that these parts are readily available, but some bending might be required to make them sit nicely.

I agree but that is valid if you remove the HT lead with the LT lead still connected with the engine running. Removing the LT lead is safe even with a running engine

Agreeing with the "remove the deposit" posters here, as previously stated. Consider this: If there's no acceptable way to remove the deposits, then you buy a new part. Next you will need to replace nearly every part for similar reasons. You would quickly discover that the new parts exceeded the cost of a new engine. So, remove the deposits with a wire wheel or solvent-- your choice. With all due respect to...

How about an update on GSXR model, year, source, fitment issues, ht terminal compatability, etc?
I'm sure this has been written about but a review might be useful.

Have you plugged the diagnostic wires together underneath the seat to get the error codes?

the extra CCA won't help with your problem, it will simply be harder on your charging system...
you either have excessive parasitic draw or an old battery that has seen better days.
Pull the small fuses one by one until you find the circuit that is causing your draw, that will give you a more focused area to look at...if you're handy with a VOM, you can figure it out alot quicker.

Before you start changing things using Tuneboy give the bike a big service.
Throttle bodies should be synchronized using the correct procedure, air filter and spark plugs replaced if needed, vacuum hoses checked for cracks, confirm all coils functioning etc.
The synch affects a lot the mixture on idle and even up in to the cruise range so don´t skip this part.

First off, you're ok. At the end of the day, that's all that matters. Make sure you get yourself checked out, too. Not necessarily the ER, but a doc of some sort.
As for the RST.....a lowside, low-speed slide like that, yeah, mostly cosmetic. I'd guess you could have her back up and running for Christmas if you wanted to.
Glad you're ok!

I've searched UK and German Ebays for a while, but haven't seen any being sold since July.
Anyone know where to find one (for cheap, of course...) for a winter building project?
Cheers,

Whats High milage for the engine?
I am looking at buying a 2002 Futura with FSH but it has 34000 miles on the clock.
If looked after what sort of mileage do these engines run too?
Has anyone got examples of high milage Futuras just to reasure me before I part with the cash.
I know I could hang on but these are becoming ...

Get the feeling no one really knows? That Scorpion is obviously made in China. Most of yuasa's larger powersports batteries are made in japan, but Yuasa has plants all over asia. It's hard to know what plant made what battery. The last place you want to buy a battery is directly from Yuasa. They're prices are liking buying a GPS directly from Garmin. Way too much.

Your descriptions sound normal to me.
Especially when hot, the Rotax twin sounds 'noisy'.
And it will chug at low RPMs.
Viva la difference.
There is one noise having to do with the end play of a cam-shaft or some such on high milage engines,
which is documented elsewhere, quite well I might add.
