Sounds to me if you're getting confused about it you might as well buy a torque wrench. If you don't do it properly, you can really fuck it up. Oh, get a bloody Haynes Manual as well! It's one of those tools that once you've got it, you will be able to keep it for years and carry on using it.

Just thought i would mention As i've said when i was coming down the hill, i lost all power and the bike pulled to a halt very quickily. And at one stage i think locked the back wheel up for a second. My dad was saying when he was messing around with the bike it seemed like it was back fireing, he was wondering if the timing has fucked up? I doubt it but he knows more than me! So, if it back fireing what damage could be caused? Or will i...

If you can't redline it, and you want to, you need a performance pipe which is higher revving. Changing your gearing will help as well.

Drop a little bit of petrol down the plug hole. If it starts then you have a fuelling problem.

You really need to whip the barrel off to check the piston, piston rings and the inside of the barrel.
If you think you're low on compression, do a compression test.

They might of forgot to replace the exhaust gasket for a new one hence it more louder but it will make the bike slower if it did.

So what you guys put in?...
