Tired of poor finish on my starter motor OK this will open a cans of worms, I know many of you don't like carbon but every few months particularly during the winter months I have to try to buff up my starter motor as it looks awful. If you don't keep your bike clean like I do then carry on reading another post about something else But if you do look after your beast and like to keep it looking MINT then how about this? I will say...

OK the one of the coil connections should be connected to the side lighe circuit the other to earth. The reaming connections should be used to feed the accessory and be connected to the battery, via a fuse holder and fuse. The quality/ability of the local Aprilia dealer is also something you should consider.

Welcome yogi... Now that you have the bike the fun starts, mods. If you like torque & want more.... you can change the front & rear sprockets.

I like that bike. Has character... I wonder how my Shiver would look with spoked wheels like that. Something about them is very appealing.

sorry to hear that
you should never ride a bike without proper protection even if you go a couple of miles because you never know what is going to happen and when.
hope you get better soon

Some interesting and helpful observations there Kiwi, thanks. I am one of those who never really felt comfortable pushing my OE Dunlops - the rear was almost shagged at about 5,500kms and I'm not hard on my rubber!!
I've now just completed 600km over the past two days on a new set of Michelin pilot road 2s and am totally satisfied. I feel much the same as you do about the Pirellis. I ...

Ethenol Based Fuels
Hi
In New Zealand we are starting to get E10 fuels.
I have looked around the forum and have seen many discussions
on wether or not it is good or bad.
But I have been unable to fine wether Aprilia approve its use. There
appears to be no mention of its use in either the user manual or service

25 although I'm sure you are capable of sorting this it may be a good idea to take it to your
dealer, no doubt they have had this happen countless times and will know the best way to tackle it. a re threading tool will hopefully fix it and all be well.
Good luck, hope you get it sorted.

Call me crazy, but I always just stabbed the oil filter with an old screwdriver and then used the protruding handle of said screwdriver to turn the filter and unscrew it. Probably a hundred reasons why you shouldn't do this but it's always worked for me on cars and bikes.

I'll get it started and maybe others will follow. The DD is a beautiful bike with a great engine, and several thousand dollars cheaper. The Monster is a beautiful bike, with a great engine. So, what is it that you want. The Monster will give you a more compact sportbike like ride with endless, and I mean endless mods. Also, Ducati USA supports its customers very well. The DD, to me, will provide ...

Well Hitch, perhaps you can do no more - EnZud has been warned. Your story doesn't want to make me migrate across the ditch and buy Aprilia.
I wonder how many more of the sensors etc on our bikes may be sourced from Taiwan, makes ya think, eh.

As I'm sure many will tell you, DO A SEARCH and yee shall find.
However I'm feeling helpful - I generally don't rely on internet reviews and forums, because generally when people have things to say about their bikes its bad, i.e. the red light of death (service light), jerly fuel issues etc. For all the people out their on forums complaining, there is probably twice that many perfectly happy...
