The stock rims have been anodized. I don't know who the original owner was. The bike now belongs to a forum member from Michigan. When he purchased it the rims were already done. It ended up here for a case reseal and some upgrades.

what exactly are u lookin for Karl. I did my tail section in Black/blue carbon/kevlar. Wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. looks o.k. for first try but not to my satisfaction. After I get moved in a couple of weeks and get another project bike done I think I will try again at it. Learn from the mistakes I made the first time(I hope).

No such thing. Best results will be from taking your bike to a dealer who's experenced with these bikes and have them tune it correctly.

On your roadracer I assume? what external gearing are you running? I'm guessing you're running as tall as you can, but you're still running out of gear? I feel your pain. Had similar probs last year, but not on an SXV. I threw in the towel.

06' - 07's had a sealant issue - coolant/oil implode issue aka "orange sealant" motors- (A high percentage of 550's with orange case sealant failed)
Most, if not all 08's (black sealant) have been fine- mine has 2300 raped ape miles on it... a lot of other issues were from folks messing up the oil changes (overfilling) is #1 aka "oil in airbox" "problem. Hint: Don't read the site tube - ...

The Ducati is a sexy commuter/weekend asphalt machine, not anything else. Yet money aside, you would not even want to take into the dirt, as its a heavy pig. It just looks cool, thats all.
Ever look that the placement of the footpegs on the Duc? Old school Triumph in my eyes, and I've owned and have a few Ducati's presently, I love the looks, and sure it's a reliable machine, but that's...

Looks good. A two stroke twin would be a blast! The engine fits in the frame rails nice. The countershaft looks a little inboard though. The rz probably did not have the tire width of the sxv. Maybe you could extend the sprocket somehow or make an outboard bearing. 100 hp would not be excessive, unless it was very peaky, then it would be too much. I imagine the rz engine is very light. ...
