At applianceaid site they use a piece of fishing line to pull the spring into the looped end of the wire. Just go to the site with www in front and .com at end. This site will block the whole web site.

The motor is free to move, and the water pump moves easily as well. I put a little oil on the pully/bearing below the tub and operation is much quieter. Thanks for the relpy.

when blowing back to the tube should the air come out in the tube? I am assuming the above is a typo and the last tube should be tub. Yes air should come out inside the tub whwn checking/clearing a plugged tube.

The replacement motor coupling has a metal lining to prevent that part from breaking in the future. it is not possible to repair the coupling because there is way too much torque. There is no certain way to line it all back up just make sure the coupling slides in place and put the motor clips back on and all that good stuff and your good to go

Sounds like a timer problem, Part number: AP3084481 but before you replace it lets get some more info. 1. Does this happen in all cycles? 2. If you open the lid for a few seconds and put it back down does it start up? 3. If you manually move the timer to spin, will it start? 4. Does it happen on the drain spin after the wash and after the rinse cycles?...

If you take off the bottom service panel you should find some tech notes which will show you how to put it into test/troubleshooting mode. See if this tells you anything about the problem. Good luck.

It is more likely the lid switch is bad. By pass it by taking off the two screws that hold the console to the top (they may be in front, back or under trim pieces) and flip up the console. Disconnect the lid switch connector and insert a solid insulated short piece of wire with the ends exposed in to the two outer holes of the connector coming from the console. Try the machine and if it ...

I am not sure where your problem is, but the bolt should be right under the cap, and you probably need to use a 7/16" socket with extension and not a 5/16".

Check the fuse next to the lid switch if you haven’t already done so. Also check the lid switch actuator to make sure it is making the lid switch when you close the lid. If all of that seems ok the timer is most likely but I would hate to guess on such an expensive part. If the above doesn’t work post back and I will try to help you diagnose the timer. As for continuity ...

You have a plastic comb filter under the spin basket that is clogged. Dump a gallon of vinegar in the tub and let it sit for a period of time, might just dissolve the soap residue on the comb filter.

When I moved my washer to clean behind it, I found that the floor was covered with oil (about 2.5 foot square). Washer is less than 2 years old and, so far, seems to be working fine (no odd noises...yet). From my research, the only component that could have been leaking oil would be the gearcase. Is this a common problem for Kenmore?? Although it seems to me that Sears should cover such an ...
