"High Temp" error?

Get it fixed under warranty. If you start messing with it you may give them a reason to void the warranty on you.

The part that has gone bad is likely the fill valve that regulates water going to the icemaker and also the water dispenser on your door if u have one

Oooh...I bought these second hand, but unused, but Frigidaire said they are under warranty until next year. That makes this problem much easier to solve. I wasn't even thinking about calling them until now! Thanks! Matt

Freezer will not get cold
Published (2009-11-25 21:57:00)
I can’t tell by the model number but if it is a manual defrost freezer and the compressor is running but not cooling chances are it is the compressor or it has a leak as you say. It is a chance the temperature control is cutting it off to quick but if that were the case the compressor would stay off a lot. However if it is a frost-free model post back because there are a number of things it could be. Manual Defrost Freezer Repair Guide

The defrost thermostats on these refrigerators give very little trouble mostly because they are very high temperature like 140 degrees so they never cut on and off. The only reason they are there is for a safety back up. You can check for continuity across it. There is picture on the page below, if your thermostat looks like that replace it. The little white thermistor at the top of ...

One other sympton, lower 20-25% of freezer is freezing, I put a plastic ice tray in bottom and it froze solid.. Upper three quarters not freezing at all. Thanks again. Johno15

I just bought and installed this Frigidaire SS fridge today. It's been plugged in for 12 hours or so and it doesn't seem to be cooling. It is running and it's cooler than the kitchen, but it's 44 degrees F in the freezer and 48 degrees F in the fridge. When I originally plugged it in, it beeped an error message saying "High Temp". I have it set to 0 in the freezer and 35 in the fridge....

The compressor has three prongs on the side of it. Test ohms between each one and to ground. There should be continuity (6-12 ohms or so) between each of the prongs and no continuity to ground. If the compressor checks out ok I would replace the relay but note that even if the compressor even if the compressor checks ok ohms wise it can still cause the relay to go bad. I know the price of the ...

After having the refrigerator set unpluged for a day I did some looking. I removed the defrost heater (single tube). it is greyest-black and the ceramic connectors were a tan color (looked like they got hot). The tube is very loose in the connectors and a black colored dust comes out of the opening beside the wire connector. Reinstalled the heater and turned the refrigerator back on. To my ...
