Maytag dyer motor problems

I just spend time here and do not represent AppliancePartsPros Is it as easy as popping off the clips and lifting it out? Popping the clips can be a pain so watch your knuckles. Getting them back on can sometimes be difficult, if you are having a bad day. Take the blower off the motor first. You did not include a model number so I do not know if you will need cir clip (snap ring) pliers to get it off.

yeah actually a coin stuck in the baffle would be waaaay more likely than the roller wheels for a rolling marble noise. i would definitely look for loose change there

Pull out the lint screen and you will see two screws that hold the top to the frame. Take them out, insert a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and the front near the edges and this will release clips that hold the top to the frame. Flip it up, and you can now take off the front by taking out the two screws that hold it to the frame. Be sure to take the wires off the door switch, marking how they go. You can now take out...

waiting for blower fan, easy install, motor installed successfully. I'm marking this one a winner on saved labor and parts markup costs of at least 200. educational and gratifying too.

dryer will not heat
Published (2009-12-11 19:43:00)
I am not an expert, but I just went through the same problem ie there are many parts (in addition to the heating coil) my model (Kenmore) has a fuse, thermistor, 2 overheat protection devices, a heater relay and the electric controls that tells it when/how to heat all parts seemed to pass each test, so I replaced the electronics- still no heat - and after some help from this Forum and more testing, just ordered a heater relay this morning...

Help dead dryer

First off I am on a small island in the Bahamas so I am on my own. Frigidaire LEQ6000ES2 runs anywhere from 1 to 10 minutes and shuts off showing error code of E-68; which I have found out to be stuck button. I removed the circuit board and carefully cleaned it with rubbing alcohol, paying attention to the movement of the buttons. We are in a very humid climate and are also subject to power fluctuations. Anyway no luck, same E-68 code. All I...

Whirlpool dryer won't start...
Published (2009-12-10 18:21:00)
I have now resolved the problem...with help from a used appliance shop. The timer, although its clock was still functioning (I could hear this when the power was connected), had burnt or worn through a contact. This prevented the dryer from starting. A new timer cost me $94. Thanks, again, for all your suggestions.

To temporarily jump a thermal fuse or a thermostat, connect the (larger) wire going to the component with the one going from it. Make sure you securely wrap it with electrical tape, so the terminals don't make contact with any other metal during your test. Test only one component at a time. Be confident, but above all, BE SAFE !

If you leave it on and wait will it come back on a light again the next time it cycles? If not I am almost certain the coils or the valve are bad. Typically they will heat up and quit working until they cool off then they will work again until they get hot. Hope this helps! Gas Dryer Repair Guide

Your model number seems short several digits, I can find no info on it.
Not sure what you mean by a sensor.
If it is a 2 wire thermostat/fuse then it is your problem but cannot tell for sure without a wiring diagram.
I cannot recommend bypassing it as I am not sure what you are referring to.
But if I assume it is the thermal fuse.
If it is blown also replace the hi-limit thermostat as ...

My first thought is that part of the element touched the frame or something
- if that is the element that you have to stretch out and place in the
white ceramic holders then it is easy to do that so i would replace the
element again but make sure it is stretched out evenly and make sure none
of those ceramic things are cracked or broken

There are two parts I would check: the broken belt switch (#5 on the diagram ) and the thermal fuse (#59 on the diagram ).
- The broken belt switch Part number: AP3094230
- The thermal fuse Part number: AP3133489
Here is the wiring sheet .

Try this
Remove the belt from the idler and motor.
Pull the idler to the far left.
Loop the belt onto the motor pulley
Release the idler pulley so that it puts pressure on the left hand side of the belt.
Should look like GE - Standard Capacity Models 1970-1990 in the diagrams.

Not sure what manual you are referring to.
If it is the one in my earlier post and it is not downloading just give it some more time to download.
I tried the link and it works for me but then I use Firefox.
So I retrieved it using Internet Explorer
