It should have a channel that the thermocouple runs through, just pull it out from the bottom after you unmount your thermostat. Here's the cold control thermostat for your model: Manufacturer's Number: 4344659 4344659 Actually it comes with complete installation instructions. Jake

OK, I touched both the red and black test leads (at the same time) to each of the wire heads on the cold control thermostat that i just removed the wire covers from like instructed above. Each read 0 ohm. Not sure if I did that correctly or not...

Samsung fridge with alarm beeping

It was the door switch for the fridge side. I guess the sensor wasn't noticing the magnet on the door when the door was closed. Got a new sensor put in and closed the door, the light went out (before it stayed on even when the door was shut, compressor didn't run at all) The compressor and the fan both kicked in after a 5 minute delay so it's all good. I just started working on Samsung appliances with not much training, I went...

Lean refrigerator over for shipment
Published (2010-02-02 12:52:00)
I purchased a brand new refrigerator for a rental unit I own in another state. I am transporting the unit in my enclosed trailer that is not tall enough to stand the unit up. I created an angled frame to hold the unit as far upright as possible inside the trailer without hitting the roof. This positioned the refrigerator being leaned over at an angle of about 25 degrees as measured from the ground or 65 degrees from being vertical. The...

Hi Jake, I've read through the thread, and a lot of great info! Thanks for directing towards the service manuals. I have a side-by-side Whirlpool gold, GD5SHAXKB00, made in 2001 (pre-2002 optics). It stopped making ice, and I assumed it was because the front grill filter was almost spent. I changed it out, and still no ice (does the water for the ice maker even go through the filter?), but the water dispenser pressure is good. I tried the...

Once plugged back in, it begins to cool but the freezer only cools for one cycle. After one cooling cycle, the LCD temp display starts to blink and the freezer side stops cooling. My wine cooler had stopped working and I've isolated the problem at the thermostat control, thanks to 2 previous threads that are more than 2 years old. Rather than try to resurrect those threads I've begun a new one. My question relates to the nuts and bolts of replacing the thermostat. There is a long wire coming from the end of the thermostat that is presumably the thermocouple that reads the temperature. The Manufacturer's...

This timer will not advance automatically after it goes through it's defrost cycle unless you do it manually, therefore; The timer will chip out but wont chip in. What is wrong here?

Hi, recently my Fridge section of our fridge freezer stopped working....
Zanussi ZX79/5S1
I took the usual steps defrosted and cleaned it up but no luck. I removed the Thermostat so will test this at work but shouldn't the fridge section still get cold without the thermostat? because it isnt.
The freezer section is perfect
any advice?
thanks!
