Removed the control board,re soldered some connections. Reinstalled it, compressor is now off. Went thru the tests, I can now turn the compressor on & off in the test mode. Can also turn on & off the defrost mode. Just to maybe help others out there, if the compressor is running in the test mode, the control will not let you over ride into the defrost mode. The refrigerator has now been running for the last two days just fine,...

Hi Jake, The unit ran for almost 4hrs, cold, had some ice, and now when it starts running, it makes some noise and then stops for every 2-5 min. So, it must be a compressor. right Jake? Thanks again. Ty

Sorry to sound like a noobie, but which fill tube are you referring to? I've checked the hose external to the freezer which then runs internally to the ice tray, but there isn't any frozen water there.

Hello, I have a Maytag Reefer model # MSD2656DE side by side that I am having an issue with. The other day I came home and my house had the aroma of burned electrical wire. Well when I found out what the issue was it turns out to be the Reefer. What has happened is a few wires have burned away from a ceramic plug on switch that is connected (plugged into) the compressor tank. Compressor runs all the time,No defrost. In service test mode, compressor is still running. In service mode #1, "Defrost thermostat & defrost circuit test", when the test is activated using the refrigerator up button, unit falls out of the test mode. It goes thru all the other test modes ok. I am thinking, that because the compressor is running, that the defrost test will not run. And also that ...

Hi,
Recently I was filling a jug with ice cubes when I noticed that the ice maker had made an abundance of ice which filed the whole ice maker.
I manually removed the ice to return it back to a normal level, ensuring the switch lever was still in the ON position.
Though after this and using up what ice was left, the ice maker stopped producing any ice. The switch lever is in the ON ...

I have maytag MSD2655HEW not cold. I replaced relay. Compressor starts running for about 30 sec, then stop, and then about 1min later starts again for 30sec and stops again.
Any other problems please help..

Jake, I saw your answer to others about Magtay MZD2766GEW.
My refrigerator (MZD2766GEW) does not defrost. I unpluged the conector of the heater/defroster thermostate and check for continuity. Black wire to white/black wire shows low ohm, black wire to white and white/black to white shows high ohm (no continuity). Is the thermostate broken?
Which part I should to buy? ...
