I am sick to death of this.... I've tried THREE different brands of Bluetooth stereo A2DP headphones, and all three will, at some point or other, cause my machine to kernel panic. panic(cpu 0 caller 0x001A8CEC): Kernel trap at 0x69398a84, type 14=page fault, registers: CR0: 0x8001003b, CR2: 0x6939e020, CR3: 0x01b1e000, CR4: 0x00000660 EAX: 0x6939e000, EBX: 0x13222900, ECX: ...

In the land of Windows, I could "copy" files in Explorer for example, and "paste" them to a DVD or CD ROM drive. Even easier, I could "drag" the files from where ever and "drop" them on the destination drive and the "copy" would execute. Call me stupid but I can't find a way to do the same on my iMac. In Finder, I can "copy" a file easy enough but there is no evidence of any DVD ...

Hi. I'm copying a folder with roughly 300 files to my idisk. When I try to do so, I get the error message that's in my subject line: "You Do Not Have Sufficient Privileges For Some of the Items." When I use the "get info" option for the folder, under the Sharing and Permissions heading, I am listed with permission to Read & Write. I have applied this permission to all the contents...

So, here's the thing. I just switched from PC (never going back). I love my mac, but it's slowing me down a bit. See, I rarely use my mouse. I rely mostly on shortcuts when I'm working. My problems is this: I can't figure out how to open the "Edit" menu with a shortcut key. On a PC, if you are using Word and want to "Paste Special..." for instance, you can press "Alt+e" to ...

I just applied the latest Security Update via Software Update and upon rebooting LOTS of apps are broken! Mail, Safari (though Firefox seems unscathed), Dashboard and even Software Update. If SW Update is hosed, this makes downloading a fix that way a tad dicey. Does anyone have any suggestions? All I get is the usuall " Your life has quit unexpectedly. Do you wish to ignore it, ...

I would often like to have the option to clear just the documents, or applications but keep recent servers in the RECENT ITEMS menu. I don't think there's a way to do that. Is there any plan to introduce this option in the future, is there a third party utility that does that? Thank you...

I'm having a problem with NAV, it seems that the process "NortonAutoProtect" is using a huge percentage of my CPU power, which is not cool at all.... I've tried disabling AutoProtect as well as disabling Vulnerability Protection and it still says that the process is running. Using the "kill" command fixes it for about 15 seconds, then NAV re-initiates the process and it uses 95-100%...

I have several apps that open and run automatically as part of a backup sequence, notably Mail and Automator. I have an absolute LOATHING of having my computer tell me what I ...

I make quite a lot of use of VNC and on Macs I always use a Windows VNC client (TightVNC) via VM Fusion or Parallels since it is so so much faster than COVNC. Surely this shouldn't be the case though, I would have thought a native Mac app ought to have the edge....

Hello, I apologize if this is in the wrong section. I am the IT administrator for a couple of schools and I have at least two people who have had their web-based Yahoo email accounts hijacked. So, I've created a ~45GB DMG file to backup some data, and I want to be able to burn it to DVD's. I've read a little about splitting DMGs using the hdiutil but I'm not familiar enough with the terminal to do it that way. Does anyone know of an easy way to split a large DMG across multiple disks that can then be loaded to another computer and mounted? I have Toast Titanium ...
