You can embed files this way using "Link to: A file" in the link inspector but this is not the best way as the file has to load with the web page and therefore slows the page download in the browser. Create a download folder, put your zipped PDFs into it and upload it to your server. On the webpage, create a text of hyperlink to the file..... http://www.website.com/DownloadFolder/FileName.pdf.zip When clicked in the browser this...

Published (2009-11-28 01:18:00)
If you are using the same Mac why would you have to start from scratch to update your site? If you have your domain.sites file then you can update - it is the domain.sites2 file that you need and where iWeb stores all its data. Go to User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites2 to get to the relevant domain file and update your site from there. Double click the domain file and iWeb should open it. That's correct. You need to find iWeb's key Domain file, usually located here:
If it's not there, try using Spotlight to search for the Domain file. ...It has an extension (usually hidden) of:
.sites2
But Spotlight doesn't look in all areas of the hard drive — so if no luck, ...

Don't click on the visit button. Just close iWeb and then ensure that you have emptied your browser cache and put in the url of your site and if you go to it like this using the url it should have updated.

Usually it amounts to embedding a Java applet in your webpage. Or some HTML/JavaScript code.

No, not that I'm aware of. But create a new site in the same domain file, pick your theme, add one of each page type, change the font in each of the default text boxes and save. Then when you need a new page in your working site duplicate the same type of page in the modified site and drag it up into the working site....

I think the problem was with the communication of iweb and the mobileme server.. software would loose track of what had been updated, etc..
Try the following:
1 - go to the System/MobileMe preference pane and log out.
2 - log in with a bogus user name and password to clear the caches.
3 - log in with your correct user name and password.
4 - launch iWeb republish and see if ...

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. How are you setting the links on that page? Are you using the Link to one of my pages option in the Inspector/Links/Links pane? I found it's best to use the actual URL for the page. Go to your other site online and get the ULR for the pages and use it. See if that will get it up and running.

Copy the Domain item in ~/Library/Application Support/iWeb/ from the old computer to the same location on the new one, where ~ is the item in the Finder's sidebar with the house icon.

You have to use the login code of the main website. Probably his MobileMe account info.
Unless you want your visitors to visit 2 separate websites.
You also need his Domain.sites2 file iWeb uses the create your webpages.
Think logical.

Dan,
No easy way to do alt tags in iWeb.
Give a look at iWeb SEO Tool. http://www.ragesw.com/products/iweb-seo-tool.html
It is free and does alt tags, meta tags, title tags and more very easily. Have used it for about a year and have no complaints.
Good Luck,

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Go to the first text box and bring up the color wheel that shows the color you've added. Drag that color from the top rectangle down to one of the small squares at the bottom to save it. From there you can add that exact color anytime you want.
