I'm glad we don't exchange email or we wouldn't be doing so for very long if you always typed in all caps. TomTom failing to load
Published (2009-12-18 07:59:00)
Thanks for the tip but unforetunately that is 4GB with TomTom installed. I read on another thread one idea that sounded good and that was to backup the device, perform a factory default reset but then upgrade the device and reinstall the app alone without restoring from the backup first. It could be that my device is screwed up with the four pages of apps that I have installed. iPhone 3G iPhone OS 3.1.2

help with sim card
Published (2009-12-18 13:24:00)
geeze stan, can you help us all with a wee bit of punctuation? You mentioned that the iPhone is on pay as you go. Is it sim locked to o2, and pay as you go, or is it unlocked and pay as you go. If it's sim locked, you won't be able to put another sim in it and have it work. Why don't you call o2? coop Latitude D820

Anyways went to another apple store at Chatswood and the genius there tested the phone with a phone call and noticed the problem, took it out the back and came back 5 mins later and asked me to test it again and all working now, i believe it...

Try a hard reset:
1. Press the home button (the big circle below the screen) and the sleep wake button (the button on top of the iPhone) simultaneously.
2. Hold both buttons simultaneously for a few seconds, Ignore the "Slide to power off" and keep holding
3. The iPhone should now shutdown automatically - ( fade to black)
4. Turn the iPhone back on by hitting the sleep...

As an FYI, typing in all caps on the internet is considered as SHOUTING or YELLING and considered as rude along with being more difficult to read.
Try placing your iPhone into recovery mode. If this is successful, this will require restoring your iPhone with iTunes.

What, no backup? If you had a backup you could make everything as if nothing had happened. Since it appears that you don't have a backup, do the following:
First, disable auto sync when an ipod/iphone is connected, under preferences in itunes, which in Windows I believe is under the "Edit" menu.
Next, go up to Store>Authorize this computer.
Next, make sure you have at least one ...
