Default Alarm
Published (2009-12-27 14:19:00)
I'd bet the RFC default unit for calendar alarm data is minutes, so it wasn't actually made that way but "not" made in any other particular way; just pure data fitting the format. It was probably going to mean a week's work for the intern to customize that object within the dialogue and get interface approvals so they just prioritized it way down the list. A "don't fix what ain't broken" kind of...

iCal permission resolve issue
Published (2009-12-29 04:13:00)
Since the problem is at the step of "Checking delegate privileges" at iCal, I checked Active Directory entry for Boss account, and found that there were some Turkish characters in the "name" field. I fixed them, but no luck. I found the same problem in one Estonian forum, but they could not find an answer, either. I am lost at this point. If somebody can help, I will be glad. Ah, I fixed it! If anyone else is having this problem: All I had to do was turn off my AirPort and make sure there was no internet connection so it didn't try to establish a server connection. Then I opened iCal, went to preferences and reset all my login info there and it seems to be syncing now. Thanks for anyone who was going to offer their help!...

jrel678945 Often iCal display problems can be corrected by refreshing the the com.apple.iCal.plist file. You will find the com.apple.iCal.plist file in your Macintosh HD/Users/yourusername/Library/Preferences Folder. Quit iCal, drag the com.apple.iCal.plist file to your Desktop, log out/in or restart and check iCal for normal behavior. ;~)...

Just fixed it by going to MobileMe Sync Preferences and unchecking the box for keychain sync. No more password prompts that say "Invalid." Now the iCal on both computer and iPhone sync without interruption of work flow. I had originally checked the box to sync keychains so that I wouldn't have to type in ID's and passwords to enter sites on my iPhone. Big glitch in the system. Why ...

Hmm, I have several repeaters that run permanently. They show up at the correct "clock" time each side of the DST change - so one that shows at 9am on March 7th shows at 9am on April 7th, and 9am on November 7th. What way have you time zone support set? Did you set a specific time zone (eg "Floating") when you created the event? What time zone are you in? AK...
