Forum maintenance; trouble syncing all the servers (global); sluggish internet... (yesterday there seemed to be problems loading pages, out of the ordinary). I always use IE8 and Minefield 3.7.x. Reduce or set the disk cache to zero and empty it on quit helps also. And there are instances when the forum servers are next to impossible to get in or access, but usually lasts for a couple hours before back up. Mac Pro 8800GT 10K VelociRaptor...

Win98 to mac
Published (2009-11-27 17:43:00)
Hi Stefan, I think I found the problem after reading through the link. I put the old hard drive with the windows 98 operating system in the external case. The Mac couldn't access this system. I believe that I will need to transfer only the files that I want to use from this hard drive, possibly to another unused hard drive, and then to the Mac. Am I correct? Thanks, Jim Imac

Stefan, Yes, that was what I was trying to follow. I want to use the Direct Connect method. I turned off the firewall on my PC and made one of my folders sharable, and then plugged my Windows PC to my iMac with a standard ethernet cable. I went to Connect to Server from the Finder menu and typed smb://IPaddress/ShareName into the Server Address field. I'm not sure if this helps but my IP address was 169.254.XX.XXX. When I click Connect,...

Wireless Mighty Mouse
Published (2009-11-27 21:50:00)
Hi, I have been finding some sources on the internet that say the wireless mighty mouse will not work with a PC, some that say it will, and some that say scrolling or right click will not work under Windows. I have both a Macbook Pro and an HP laptop and would like to be able to use this mouse with either one, but I would like the scroll wheel and all buttons to work the same. Would this work or would I need special drivers or anything? Just...

Hi knotq,
the equivalent of the ' Print Screen' key on a Windows keyboard is 'fn-shift-F11' combo on a MacBook Pro.
See here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1220
There are better screen capture programs out there, do a google.
Here is one of many http://www.gadwin.com/printscreen/

Strange, I shut down and restarted Firefox and was able to get in with no error this time.
I guess my question still stands as to whether Apple discussions forum supports Firefox or is it just buggy ?
