Hello unconditionall. Welcome to the Apple Discussions! Based on your description of the problem, it still appears that the modem is NOT communicating with the new AEBSn. Please try the following ... o Power-down the modem, AEBSn, and computer(s); wait at least 10-15 minutes. o Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes. o Power-up the AEBSn; wait at least 5-10 minutes. o Power-up the computer(s). Have you had it long?
There is a reset button on the back, it explains what to do in the manual. It will reset the TC back to factory defaults, but doesn't delete the data on the disc. You could try this to see if it was a corrupted firmware problem. (this is at your own risk)

Welcome to the discussions!
Open Airport Utility, click Manual Setup
Click the Wireless tab below the row of icons to display the Wireless setup page for your TC.
Click the Security setting and you should see a WEP Transistional choice. Give that a try. It may or may not work depending on the capabilities of your printer.
If that does not work, perform the following additional ...

If Disk Utility can't repair it, there's not much else you can do.
Did you try it while connected via an Ethernet cable? That will be much faster, and there's a tiny chance it might work, especially if part of the problem is a bad WIFI connection.
Otherwise, it's time to contact Apple or an authorized Apple repair location. They may have a way to recover your data....

The "trick" is to hold down the <Option> key before selecting the radio mode dropdown. You will now find options for all "n" on the 5 GHz radio, i.e., "802.11n only (5 GHz) - 802.11b/g"
Note; however, both radios are used for the Guest network. You will not be able to limit it to just the 2.4 GHz radio....

Can't be that simple, surely?
you are right - if you mean to increase the capacity for TM backups.
you can plug in another USB drive but that's only for making its content available on your network. TM will not use the drive to expand backup capacity.
when the internal drive of your TC get full, TM will automatically delete old backups to make room for ...

If we connect the drive to any other Mac it sees it immediately. Any suggestions on what we may be doing wrong?
perform a complete power cycle of your equipment. shut down modem, TC, drive, Mac.
after about 15 minutes, tun modem back on first, followed by drive (5 minutes later, followed by TC (5 minutes later), and last your Mac.
any joy ?...
