Final Cut Studio 3 with Qmaster...

Final Cut Studio 3 will only run on Intel machines. Final Cut Studio 2 was the last suite that ran on a G5. I have FCS2 on my G5 and use it as a services node and it works great. Do you have FCS2? Is your FCS3 an upgrade from an older version? The only way Qmaster 3.5 (the version that comes in FCS3) will run is on an Intel. If I knew of a way to acquire Qmaster 3.0 (the version that comes in FCS2), I would tell you to do that, because that...

Hey there =) I'm trying to get my G5 Mac Pro to act as a Qmaster render node for FCS3 running on my Intel MBP. I have FCS2 on the G5, but batch editor does not recognise the qmaster server (in services mode) on the G5. When i try to install the FCS3 AppleQmasterNode package on the G5 it says the computer does not support this software (i assume due to PPC). If anyone could help as to how I could use my G5 for distributed rendering aswell...

We just deployed five new 27" iMacs with Final Cut Studio a couple of weeks ago. Everything has been working fine, but as of yesterday evening, Qmaster won't launch. As a result, Compressor and Final Cut Pro don't launch either. They all crash with the same error, which appears to be related to DNS. Have any of you experienced this before? What might have changed on our network that would have caused this to happen? These are...

Just discovered this while working with a friend on figuring out how to use Qmaster and create a cluster of nodes across our network. We are running the Controller from a G5 and have two other service nodes set up. One is a MacBook Pro and another is a G4, which is the machine in question. While submitting a batch and viewing in Batch Monitor, the G4 would show up as " daves-ipod". We ...

I have created animation in motion including some psd files. I have set up the render farm on two computers and its working just fine except one small issue. When the animation is being rendered(using compressor) on another computer the place where psd files suppose to be is empty. There is a hole in the animation and everything else is just fine. Hello
I am able to render maya files with qmaster but when it comes to mental ray qmaster ignores it and use default maya render. This is what i do:
In qmaster Command i choose Maya. Then in the pop up window in Maya filed i add the path /Applications/Autodesk/maya2010/Maya.app/Contents/ bin/Render
When the path above is added qmaster render the file with a following error:

I've got Qmaster working on my compressor encodes and everything is working fine. What I want to know is whether there is a way to cut out the extra copy of data for the encode. All of my machines in the cluster have the same shared storage mounted on the desktop, but still my jobs get copied first and then encoded.

Hi all, after failure to start sharing in the system prefs for Apple Qmaster it now seems that I cannot even use my iMac for compressor.
I have had to reinstall the os and reinstall FCP3....grrrrr
and still no joy
the console logs show this

I cannot access the Qmaster preferences directly, system prefs wants to invoke a 32bit state. I cannot start sharing. I'm probably doing something very silly, can anyone help?

Need to make DVD for presentation tomorrow noon. Suddenly, out of the blue, compressor brings up error, can't connect to background. Read some, checked Qmaster. It opens from a finder search page, but still the same message.
FCP 5.1.4 update off 4.5 I think. no idea where discs are after three moves and two computers later.
And suggestions a great help. Trying to compress...
