Yeah! Take the cord & MBP to your local Apple Store or AASP for a replacement. If you have Apple Care or if still under warranty, call them. G5 20' iMac w/iSight/Remote, 2.5GB RAM, 250GB HD Mac OS X (10.4.11) "Never argue with a fool, onlookers may not be able to tell the difference."

How much water, and how long ago? Is it possible there is still some residual moisture? If so, it may just need some more time to dry. The Mac needs to be bone dry before power is put to it. This will take a while, like maybe at least a week. If it hasn't been at least this long, there could still be some moisture trapped inside, which could still be causing problems. If you have a large, airtight bag, you might try sealing up the Mac...

I just got off a call with Apple support. The tech agreed that my symptoms were not normal, even for a battery with a cycle count over 300 like mine.. especially with the fact that the system profiler is showing bizarre info that makes no sense such as a full charge of a negative number. He said that basically the only thing I can try is to do an archive and reinstall of Snow Leopard, since it seems that the operating system is possibly...

I would try contacting AppleCare or visiting an Apple Store again. There were two battery replacement programs, one based on serial numbers, one based on performance characteristics. The latter program includes as a symptom the statement, "Battery pack is visibly deformed."
Sounds like the person you dealt with was not familiar with the latter program. Have this link handy:...

It's possible you might be starting to have the NVIDIA problem:
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2377
If so, you should be able to get a free repair, although I'm not sure what is available in Nairobi.
Good luck!

I too had a swollen battery on my MBP from Mid 2006 and my Apple care expired years ago, I had over 300 charge cycles on it, I took it to the Genius bar, they took one look at the battery and replaced it free of charge. Said it was a safety issue not a warranty issue. It appears any swollen or warped batteries will be replaced, no questions asked....

I think I would be prepared to try a new battery. This one might have actually failed completely. I would also try running without the battery (yes, it limits the processor speed due to power limitations without the battery), then resetting the SMC and PRAM, then trying to insert the battery. If lucky, you then might be able to check System Profiler to see what the battery specs are....

Replacing the bad battery would certainly be a good place to start. When you remove the battery, you may be resetting the SMC:
http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1411?viewlocale=en_U S
If the power adaptor is not being recognized, resetting the SMC may enable it to be recognized so that the Mac can boot up.
Also, I'm guessing that your machine may be about 3 years old. If so, it ...

Welcome to Apple Discussions
This could be one of those (rare) occasions where resetting the SMC ( System Management Controller) might help - remove the power supply and battery then hold down the power button for 5 seconds before replacing the battery and re-connecting the power then see what it says ?...

One of the infamous bulging batteries. You should contact an Apple service representative, either in person in an Apple Store, phone or email to see what kind of coverage there may be. If left to its own devices, the battery will end up warping your top case and damaging the trackpad. Besides not holding a charge.
If there's no longer any coverage, you will have to bite the bullet ...
