The dock that came with your 1st gen iPhone is not an Universal Dock. Its just an iPhone dock The Universal Dock has an IR sensor in the front, which is required to use the remote. Talked to apple technical support today on the phone, it is a "known" issue, and the engineers are looking into it. They dont know if it is hardware or firmware related yet. The lady i spoke to also said that she has heard this with MANY electronic devices interfering with the iphone. It has something to do with the frequency that the iphone is using... THIS ***** APPLE!

iPhone BT integration with Mercedes

This is a general question and looking like it is going to turn into frustration. I just got a new C-class and have been attempting to upload my contact list (via v-card) to the system in the car. It seems that the iPhone cannot perform this task. Can this be true? A phone with as many capabilities as the iPhone can't talk to another bluetooth device unless it is a headset? I have successfully uploaded my wife's phone's...

I agree. For testing purposes and fun, I always try to punch in my exact location in the search function of the maps as the "to" point and then choose "current location" as the "from" point, just to see how far off it really is. Most of the time, it tells me that I am a mile or so away from where I am actually sitting. It's so ********. Mac OS X (10.6.2)

Podcast Description/Notes?
Published (2009-11-26 08:02:00)
I recently purchased the iPhone 3Gs (love it) but can't find the description or notes for the podcasts like I could on my Nano. For example, I will download Clark Howard and he might discuss "Saving Money". In iTunes, under description, it says "Saving Money". On my Nano it, when I go to a particular Podcast, I can keep clicking the center button until I see the description of the show and it reads, "Saving...

Seems just as easy and not a battery drain to just use the mac for this.
I know of no app for this.
Unless Apple announces, which they very rarely do, there is no way to know what Apple will or will not do in the future.

I have issues as well with my pioneer and bluetooth. when I am playing the iphone 3gs 3.1.2 with the ipod connected as soon as the bluetooth engages the two units, my sound goes mute. The only way around it is to unplug and re-plug in the phone to my pioneer stereo. Frustrating because my iphone worked flawlessly with the 3.0 and my pioneer system and bluetooth. Note I tired the same...

Thanks.
I've removed Facebook, but I've also learnt that the Cameraroll dramatically slows down backups and syncs and there is an Apple support advice to import and delete these regularly.
My syncs are faster now, after deleting as much camera roll and on-app data as I can.

Syncing Voice Memos
iTunes automatically syncs voice memos to your iTunes library when you connect iPhone to your computer. This lets you listen to voice memos on your computer and provides a backup if you delete them from iPhone.
Voice memos are synced to the Voice Memos playlist. iTunes creates the playlist if it doesn’t exist. When you sync voice memos to iTunes, they remain ...
