Good! I was worried about malware there for a moment. Actually, the fact that User Account Control is off suggests something we can try. This is going to sound a bit weird. Turn User Account Control back on. Reboot the PC if necessary. Now try another "run as administrator" on the iTunes64Setup.exe. Does it go through properly with User Account Control on? By way of explanation of what the heck we're trying to do with that ......

Hi Jill, did you download and run that subinacl tool? Otherwise you can just try the old DOS trick of renaming a folder in that path from the error message. Such as, C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resource\pl.lproj\AppleTVStream.nib\ Rename that to C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunes.Resource\pl.lproj\AppleTVStreamDELETE iMac 10.5 or WinXP SP3   Other OS   external hard drive, B-W U2 iPod, 1G shuffle, 2nd gen Nano

If you updated recently, you could try using the backup library made when you updated, see this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1967?viewlocale=en_US Alternatively you could try recreating your library file from iTunes Library.xml, see this article for instructions: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451 compaq presario iPod 20GB iTunes 9.0.2.25   Windows XP   SP3

I figured it out! Okay, just incase anyone else has this problem... This problem was in the "ipod" folder. I set the ownership to everyone instead of myself. Then, I copyed the ipodservice.exe from my mom's cpu onto my cpu. and then I repaired it using the itunes installer. And it worked!   Windows Vista

If you can get to another computer (or a Mac in this example) it will likely ready your iPod...if they didn't also just upgrade iTunes. You can use software like this to copy your music to this new computer: http://www.fadingred.com/senuti/ for the Mac...don't know what's out there for PCs. Then you can reset. Also, if you didn't already, try to load the latest iPod software for your device. mBpro 15, 4GB, 2.5GHz Mac OS X...

Hmmmm. Did anything odd (or at least not usual) happen to or on the PC between the time that your iTunes 9 was working and the time that it stopped working? (Did you install any new hardware, or change around any of the disk drives or have a PC crash of some kind?) flabud, try these steps: 1) If it's not already there, move the installation file that you downloaded (iTunesSetup.exe) to your <username>\Downloads folder. 2) Temporarily disable your antivirus program. 3) Run the installation from the Downloads folder normally (i.e. do not Run as Admin). Be sure to close all other open windows before running. 4) Once installation is complete, ...

I don't know why this is happening to you. Could any security software be interfering with the install? Before you do another update, copy the iTunesLibrary.itl file to someplace else on your hard drive. Then after you update, you can always move it back into place, and itunes should still be able to use it. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1660 About the authorization being ...

The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "Music" folder. This one can be a bit trickier in Vista than it is on XP. First, we'll see if the following workaround is of any help. Next time you go to open iTunes, do a "Choose library" as per the instructions in the following document: How to open an ...
