Macbook can't find my...
Published (2009-12-10 08:58:00)
I've bought and paired a Plantronics Voyager 520 headset with my Nokia E71 phone, but my Macbook cannot seem to detect it. I click on "set up new device" and it finds other devices, but not this headset. I set it to search for headsets specifically and then simply anything, but it doesn't find it. The headset is turned on. Any tips? Macbook 3,1 - intel core duo - 2.2 GHZ -   Mac OS X (10.5.8)

An update that ell219 may find useful. After installing the 4G kit in my laptop I can report a huge improvement managing multiple apps and safari windows. I am also making use of my faster internet service. 2G or 4G? Was running 94% of 1G ram, now using 70% of 3G ram. Worth spending and extra $50 on the one extra gig, yeah even though the first two are just $30 each. Have to say as well, matching chip sets are a good idea, but I found white...

Bluetooth Firmware Missing
Published (2009-12-13 12:40:00)
I've been trying to send files to my Blackberry via Bluetooth. Even though the devices are paired and show up in the listings of devices for both my MacBook and my phone the transfer fails. I check to see if my Bluetooth hardware needed to be updated on my laptop and it says it can't be updated because the "firmware is missing." Help! I have a similar problem. Have 10 drives connected to my G5 and all show up. Sometimes all show up on the MacBook when I go to the G5 in the MacBook's Finder screen and Connect. Sometime a few of the drives don't show up. I have one in particular that I use for the MacBook TimeMachine backups. NOw it won't show up but did yesterday. Have made no setting changes to the drive (it does show up on the G5). Tried to disconnect the...

I was having this same problem with my 12"Powerbook 1.33. I had 2 external hard drives connected via Firewire 400 and they would randomly eject. I thought it was the connection, too. WIth a new iMac, I have the hard drives connected individually to the computer via USB 2.0, and it is still happening. They have never ejected while in use, just when they are idle. It is very frustrating. I have not reset the PRAM and am not sure if I...

Perhaps I am not being descriptive enough of the problem? When I have any drive plugged in to either USB port, it randomly ejects, and the OS gives me the device removal scold message "Device Removal! You must eject drives before disconnecting, else you risk data damage or loss!" I'm not sure what happens if I plug in non-drive type devices, since I generally dont have them plugged ...

I find this very puzzling, as I also have an early 2008 white MacBook with the identical Boot ROM and SMC versions and 4GB of identical PC2-5300 667MHz DDR2 RAM installed without any difficulty and performing normally. The RAM modules (2GB) are also Crucial RAM, although purchased from New Egg in January 2009. This is the identifier for the RAM kit I purchased: NBM 2Gx2|CRUC ...

There is some discussion on this in the Droid forums that might be of help. Third-party apps such as DoubleTwist or Missing Sync for Android will probably be necessary, depending on what and how you want to sync. Regards. Message was edited by: Dave Sawyer iMac 2.8 Core 2 Duo 24" 4GB ATI 2600...

Welcome to Apple Discussions! It is unlikely you are running 10.4.1 on a MacBook. 10.4.4 is the oldest Mac operating system that runs on a MacBook. 10.4.10 and 10.4.11 are newer than 10.4.4. 10.4.10 you do not drop the zero at the end when describing it. Knowing what operating system you are running should allow you to be able to tell with certainty which virtualization engine...
