Great! Thank you for that advice Endymion! It's to bad the TV can't automatically change it but I know that will never happen lol

You probably need to play with your TV's video settings. Problem is, the video you are outputting is likely not the same size/shape as the TV screen, thus the left-over space. You can view full screen but something will get chopped, stretched, or both.

If the movie is non-anamorphic letterboxed then you'll need to use the Zoom setting on your TV. If the movie is anamorphic widescreen, enhanced for 16x9, then you should be able to view it in Full mode without issue. Note that not all movies have the same aspect ratio, so some may only fill the screen in one direction (ex. horizontally) and not the other.

I don't think there's a way to disable Apple Mail. Why don't you do what I do and use Apple Mail to collect and send your gmail emails? Just open it and follow instructions on how to set it up Apple Mail with your Gmail account. Very easy to setup (Leopard will do all the work) and it will download all your previous emails. One other step must be done -- log into gmail on your browser and enable POP (so that Apple Mail can...

dark contextual menus in 10.6.2
Published (2009-12-14 15:05:00)
Anybody know a methodology for lightening up the stark gloomy black contextual Finder/Dock menus in Snowpard? It's like Apple farmed this work out to a software subcontractor in Mordor. Depressing & unlike anything else going on in the System. It's also darned tough to read. I've been able to remove the ultra-miniature left-hand Dock's goofy border from within it's Resources folder but I haven't been able...

Wow, that was a long-winded title. "Simply" put, I've set up my Airport Extreme to share my USB drive over the internet using MobileMe. I can access it absolutely fine with my Macbook, which is great. However, it'd be really handy if I could also have this same connectivity with my work PC. I'm pretty sure there is a way of accessing it, but I'm just not sure how. Any help or pointers would be greatly...

Hello everyone, I realized there's a million threads around the net with people wanting help with various startup problems. I've decided to write a mini-guide on first logical steps to try if you're having startup issues. Some things listed are obvious to some, and will be available all over the web, including Apple's own documentation, but I figured if everything was in one easy to find ...

iMac G3, 500 MHZ, locks up with 10.3.9?
How do I fix this, without purchasing a newer Mac for these folks.
I have a neighbor who has an older G3 iMac (blueberry model), and they just got hooked up with hi-speed internet, via Verizon. Now while trying to get them online, I can't get past the start-up screen for Verizon, as it says I need...
