Tell me about your DH
Published (2009-11-26 15:56:00)
My DH is also the same. While I was pg he was my biggest cheerleader for bf. He attended the bf classes with me and everything. Once I delivered Landon my MIL gave me some problems and always made rude comments about bf. My breast are pretty big and we didn't quite get a good latch in the beginning and he was not nursing efficiently. He was losing weight. When we went to our ped appt our Dr basically said that bf was too hyped up these...

Let's talk Pumps :)

I love my Medela PISA! Check to see if your insurance will cover your pump. I seem to be in the minority on this, but my BCBS did...only had to pay co-pay. Can't hurt to ask!

Nip - Page 2 - American...
Published (2009-11-26 23:34:00)
Well I started to select that I regularly NIP with a cover, then realized I am not usually IP so I went to vot for rarely, and ended up selecting both lol. When I am out and about, I will nurse him, usually putting him in the sling and carrying him around. But we dont go out that often, so its pretty rare either way.

Please help! Clogged duct!
Published (2009-11-26 18:33:00)
Start taking garlic oil (or eating raw garlic) and 1000mgs of vit c every 4 hours until you get it cleared....that can help ward off infection. Also try having baby face the direction of the clog- that's what always worked for me.

Does Supply Dip At Night?

Milk storage bag use
Published (2009-11-20 13:10:00)
i don't think you're supposed to do that. i have pumped over different sessions, added the milk together and then froze it. you can always just freeze the 1oz and thaw multiple bags when you need too, but you will waste a lot of bags this way.

Tell me about your DH
Published (2009-11-26 21:10:00)
My DH is super supportive still. He's all about the tandem nursing too, if it gets to that. I'm like Mrs. Wilson - in that I'm less into it than he is most of the time these days. I think he's really liked, and taken full advantage of my baby being a booby bedtime baby. He would like that to continue forever I think.

Talking about My Boobs
Published (2009-11-26 23:47:00)
Why does everyone think it's okay to talk about my boobs? What they're doing, not doing, how they're looking, etc.... ARGH! I met my sister the other day to bring her to the doctor and the first thing she says is, "Are you wearing a bra??" I was like, "No." (I pretty much never do -- I wear tanks, but I guess they don't do much). I had run out of the house and knew I needed to nurse her...

I think it is totally possible, nurse as much as you can on demand, pump after every feeding, eat lots of protein and drink lots of water, eat some oatmeal. You could also order some domperidone to help you relactate. Good luck mama!

Tell your DH his boys are going to be at his knees by the time he's 60,
maybe he should do something about those next time he says something.

I don't know much about your situation but what makes you think your lo is not getting enough? If she is having plenty of wet and poopy diapers then she is getting enough. If she really isn't getting enough than make sure you are eating plenty of protein and drinking lots of water, eating oatmeal helps also. Try to nurse on demand, and pump after each feeding, doesn't matter how much you pump ...

Well we are only about 3.5 weeks in, so he is still in that super supportive stage Sometimes when we are watching TV, we will see someone give their baby formula and he does the same disapproving face I do He is really supportive, and appreciates that I pump so he can help feed baby sometimes

All my vitamins are soy-free, but I just stopped talking them all (seems a
few may have been bothering her). I took a multi by thorne - vitamin C,
fish oil, D. Check out thorne brand on amazon.

I have soooo been there.
If you are having hard time, I would give it a try and see what happens. You can always stop if it does not feel right and go back to nursing. My DS was like that - nursing every 2 hours round the clock until we bit the bullet and night-weaned at 14 months. Even once we night weaned, he continued to wake 2-3 times a night (which was a very welcome improvement and ...

8 oz per feeding is a lot of BM for any baby. DS son at his most has only ever eaten 5 oz per feeding. BF babies want to nurse/suck for comfort in addition to food. Has daycare provider tried a pacifier or other soothing methods before giving her the full 8 oz. It may be that she just wants to comfort suck.
It could also be a growth spurt. DS's intake increased to about 17-18 oz per ...

That doesn't even look real......I think it's photo- shopped or something....I mean the "baby" is just hanging there with straps under it's arms??? I don't think so. But the blanket over her shoulder and shirt pulled up with backfat exposed- she is doing something , I just can't be sure what

The first time I spilt my milk my dog went CRAZY drinking it off the floor. I started crying and telling dh too take the dog away from my milk. He just laughed and laughed, until he realized I was really upset, and not just playing.

Lansinoh Double Electric! About $150, is a work horse. It's the same pump as the Ameda Purely Yours ($300+, just packaged differently.
I had the PY with DS, loved it. I'm acutally using teh Avent Isis MANUAL now, and getting some good results.

I have 2 word docs- one with dinners (including name brands of some
packaged foods -like rice- that are safe), and another of safe recipes.
It'll take me a min, but when Emme goes down for a nap I'll work on getting
the info transferred.
