Just got in from my regular karaoke show, & my voice is shot. There was a fairly good crowd, but not near as many singers as usual. Usually, I'll do four songs. Every once in a while, maybe five. Tonight I did twelve, and my throat can feel it. I got a really good audience reaction to most everything. Not in this order, but tonight I did.......... 01) "My Girl Bill" ~ Jim Stafford 02) "Hitchin' a...

Hi Joe: Thank you so much for the rundown on your studies in the Seminary! Maximum respect to you. You mention listening to Scott Muni in NYC. I think that's awesome. It makes me sad that dallas thinks I'm mean. dallas, I'm sorry. It's just that when I read your posts I can't help myself. In the spirit of the holidays I am going to stop picking on you, even after you called me a loser and tolds me to take a hike---which I really did enjoy by the way.

My vote goes to Kraftwerk. The Beatles, Stones et al. might have been influential to more bands/performers but the influence of Kraftwerk has led to the creation of completely new genres.

I guess you want to end the "Is it music?" discussion, but starting this one seems suspiciously like a continuation to me. . . First, if it's "black music" then Falco, Blondie, BAD, Clash, Beastie Boys, Vanilla Ice, et al are passing like no one ever has before. I doubt most people hate it. I just think most people like what they like and their culture is reinforced so many times over ...

The Who fits in with the kind of performer they have had in recent years, extremely popular for a long time, and with numerous highly identifiable songs to choose from for their show. This presumably helps the advertisers in "hitting" on a large group of people. If the advertisers were seeking a younger crowd we might see someone quite different. If they follow the current line of thinking ...
