Baier, There is no evidence from the NT that when the apostles died, their power to fogive sins died with them. There is nothing in the NT which teaches this. But, the NT is clear that whatever powers the Church receives from Jesus, the Church is here to say "...I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it." Mt 16:18. The apostles will die, but the Church with its authority from Jesus will not be...

I have issues with the idea of Spirit Baptism as somehow something different than regular baptism, because it implies that there are more meritorious Christians than others who have been gifted with the Spirit, and the rest of us down here in the trenches have to do without. We cannot judge the baptism of anyone else, period. Only God knows. I believe where the water and the word is spoken, the baptism takes effect. If someone chooses to turn...

K: We do think, eventually, God will restore all things to the way they were in the beginning, before the Adam and Eve sin. S: Well, I'm not going back to that silly Garden, unless i can have a fairly big house and all the electronics I want. Plus a diverse diet including meat. And a gardener. And not if six billion people plan to crowd into a garden big enough for two people. K: Sarah, That's funny. Me, too. S: :-) all right! K...

u r so wrong Baier. I luv my Lord and Savior as much if not more than u do. it is my desire to be a witness and slave of my Savior and not to the world as that is why i don't care what anyone say or thinks about me on these discussions. it is my desire to see my Savior when i die. I hope u and i both will be with Jesus. i pray that u will see the light one day as i feel like ur opinons of the Catholic Church r way off. I know Christ very...

Homosexuals should NEVER be allowed to be clergy. Their way of life is an ABOMINATION unto the Lord. According to the Bible, they will never see Heaven.

I am quite sure that Mary and Joseph consumated their marriage, because in the Gospel of Matthew, people tell Jesus that His mother and brothers were there to see Him. The book of Jude was written by Jesus' half brother. And no, sexuality within the context of marriage between one man and woman is not sin. God created sex to be enjoyed in marriage. (See Proverbs 5:19) Mary was the wife...

Prom, peace to you in Jesus our Saviour and all thanks to His Most Precious Blood. Paul and Jesus BOTH refuted the fallacies of Faith ALONE. (Matthew 19:17, Hebrews 10:26, Luke 12:47, Mark 10:19, John 3:36), and "Scripture ALONE, (Matthew 16;18, Acts 15;28). Also, Strive says God alone is the ROCK, and Holy Scripture refutes that as well. (Isaiah 51:1,2 John 1:42).

Four archbishops covered up that scandal because the reputation of their institution was deemed more important than the protection of innocent children. Well done for continuing their good work, Boldie.

You wanted to start a troll-war in the forum and couldn't come up with anything more original than this? Come on, at least go to enough trouble to be creative. Try "everyone who has ever taken communion in Methodist church is going to hell because they ordain women" or "Paul believed that women were property of the church as well as their husbands" If we're gonna sling mud, lets at least...

LDS --- Lives Doomed w/o a Savior Matthew 7:21-23 "Not everyone who says to Me, `Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, `Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' And then I will declare to them, `I never knew you; depart from ...

Virtually any active adult complicity (check me here ) is automatic excommunication under Canon Law. Those reasons you gave are not reasons at all. YOU are the reason you are Catholic or not. If you got married for example and made vows to God that you didn't mean, well, that is a great sin in any understanding of God or any religion.
