resist an urge to repeat or not ?

It all depends what works for you. Does the fact you repeat the words in your head drive you insane or make u feel better? It all depends on what bothers your life more the repeating or the anxiety. Good luck :)

also, i have reason to believe that there is a physical blood-flow part of this problem because of some reworking of my blood stream that happened years ago. it might actually have to with my orientation (physical orientation, standing up, sitting down, etc.) because i sometimes have an easier time getting one while standing up. just throwing that out there.

Thank you for the reply.  That was very insightful and helpful.  And yes, he is an only child.  And I've tried to change subjects but he insists on staying on that subject.  Maybe I'll look more into that "only child" thing.  It sounds like you are on to something.  Thanks again for your reply!

Why do we count
Published (2009-12-10 04:03:00)

I shutter to think "if people only knew". I appear to be quite normal Normal saline flush to my friends, but this is really bugging me. I MUST count to either 15 or a 100, and there are other things such as turning off a light switch...

I have schizoaffective and have been documented as having made a full recovery (read through my posts) so I don't find the concept of having it to be frightening but it is true that for someone with ocd any disability or illness can be a fixed obsession.
