I do not take any suppliments and I'm not on any meds.   I had an appointment with the neurologist today.  She mentioned anxiety, but wants to look into other areas (CT scan on upper neck) before going that route.

I Smell Burning Hair???
Published (2009-11-23 20:20:00)
I would consult a neurologist to be certain.  I've been reading about brain tumors and noticed a symptom is smelling things that are not there.  I am not a Dr or a medical professional at all, but to be safe, if I were you, I would certainly consult a Dr about this.

Hello, It’s crazy to read your post, b/c I have been enduring the exact same thing since the beginning of October, so I guess 6 weeks now! I was and still am very concerned about ALS, b/c I seem to have ALL of the symptoms. Like yours, though, MOST of them came on suddenly six weeks ago following a very bad bout with gastroenteritis. A week following the virus, I first ...

Dear Bosnian Worrier, Just saw your old post and your new info. Thought I'd mention that SSRIs can sometimes cause that brain electricity you're referring to, it's a hum that usually goes up the spine and snaps in the head. Maybe that's not what you got. I have also heard the word neuropathy used to describe strange feelings in the extremities like your paresthesias. But the ...

Hi, I can understand your concern for the baby and your daughter- in- law. It is true that a person unless proved free from seizures for a period of 6 months should not drive or stay alone especially if she has a small child. Please take your relatives and your daughter- in- law’s parents into confidence and discuss the issues. It is for the benefit for the mother and the child....

Hi Pixie, Have you considering Migraine Variants? I have had a long history of weird and scary sensations. It took me 10 years to get help, I was also always told I had 'emotional problems' all the time! It turned out to be a migraine variant as I responded really really well. Might be worth asking your Dr.

Hi, The symptoms could be due to Migraines as well as Flu. A complete examination and investigations are necessary for a diagnosis. Since the symptoms are common to both the ailments, it is very difficult to comment through internet as to what it is. Please consult a physician and get routine investigations like CBP with ESR, stool examination, and other tests. If Flu is ruled ...

If you have repeatedly tested positive for Epstein-Barr, and your current advice is heading that way, then hon, that's probably correct. So, yes, go to an infectious disease specialist again, he'll be able to treat you. In the meantime, as for your calves seizing up, your regular doc can give you a short-term prescription for a mild opiate at bedtime that should offset that ...

Hi carol, thanks for your input. I like how you explained the sound it makes, it describes it perfectly, and i wasnt too worried about it until the weird "headaches" started. I am hoping its nothing, ive done plenty of research on this myself and i couldnt really find an explanation for it as well. That is why i made a post here, hoping a doctor would read my post and give me some input.

I used to take Lyrica, gained a little weight, but I was not concerned about it since it was so little. I think on the side effects it says possible weight gain, but diff side effects are felt by just some people. I liked Lyrica, and I'm glad it's helping you, too, so do not worry anymore about gaining weight.
