PI trials for F4 Geno1?
Published (2009-11-11 20:27:56)
You might not want to say to your doc you will stop at 30 days if you dont SVR,he may not treat you at all,you can always just stop the  TX anytime you want SOC or a trial. But ill garentee if you do RVR in 30 days you will happy.

No, it does NOT put you at risk for Hepatitis C. Hepatitis C is a blood borne disease. Infected blood would have to enter your blood stream.

Honey as a geno 1 stage 3 you are probably best off considering extending to 72 weeks like I did - you are right there.  If he doesn't know about it (like my GI didn't) you can google up the studies and bring him the recaps.   The studies show that it gives you better odds (but sure doesn't make it foolproof).  The longer and farther out you get from not being UND at week 12...

Do a test Tx for 30 days? Now, there's a novel idea! I think I'll bring this up with the hep MD I'm seeing on Friday.

Terrible news, so sorry.  What trial were you in?  I hesitate to recommend waiting for another new drug if you just had a disappointment with one.  I finished TX with platelets Platelet associated antibodies Platelet count at 30 and 6 mos. post-TX am only to 120, but since they are indeed coming up, I will be patient and you should be too.

PI trials for F4 Geno1?

In fact 24 weeks of PI's is likely to be overkill.  Read the results of the Telaprevir trials: ALL arms get the PI for only 12 weeks, and they have SVR rates of 80 - 85%. I appreciate that you do not feel enough info is available for you to trust this trial (or likely many others).  However, the info for the Phase I and the Phase IIa trial IS in, which I stated in my previous post. It's readily...

You can loose short term memory. That is why when you take it you need to make sure you have the 6 -8 hrs of rest or at least not doing anything. Anything that happens while the drug is in your system you might not remember. If there is no other way to find sleep I would take it. We all need sleep it is very important. Took it on an redeye flight once , woke up and did not remember where my stuff was and had an injured foot. A friend of mine...

Just finished 48 a month ago. I seemed to be doing better the last two months, either that or I got used to alot of the sides. I didn't seem to be as tired. My hair did start to really fall out towards the end though. My major Major tears Major-gesic side was headache and that was constant throughout. My advice is just to do one week at a time, meaning just focus on the now and then the now will be next week.... Let me know if I can help...

Hi Mike -- glad I didn't depress you over on your other thread... :) Were you able to speak to anyone about the TMC435 trial? I don't want to keep pushing it on you, but it is a PI with good results so far and it is recruiting in several cities in Argentina. Maybe someone else will have another good idea for you.

Hey there, Javi— I think you’re getting the cart in front of the horse Horse chestnut ; you haven’t been officially diagnosed yet. In the meantime, if you use a condom Condoms Female condoms (if the need arises), it should be an issue. I’d be very cautious at this stage; you are antibody positive, but don’t yet know your RNA status. If it turns out you are RNA ...

I'd get with the hospital administrator. Treat the situation as if it was a consumer Consumer rights and responsibilities product. If there was a problen, and no fault of your own, you should be made whole (so to speak) Either they refund the associated charges or you get a do-over free of charge. Maybe JD or Mike can chime in.

Glad to hear your husband is doing his part of taking care of himself while he waits. Hi Kathy - good to read your story and perspective on treatment. I also worked during tx but couldn't drive - that commute must have been rough. What a big relief to be done. When will you go for your first PCR post tx? Amazing on your platelets - mine got whacked pretty bad on tx and are still only 109 3 months post tx. Do you still have side effects?
