Palpitations Question
Published (2009-11-22 19:27:00)
Palpitations are disconcerting for most of us, and indeed some of us have to live with them. There are drugs that may reduce or even eliminate palps, but it seems your medical advice has not been to take any. I think being off of drugs, all kinds, is better/best. Still if the palps disrupt you life it may be something like a beta blocker could be prescribed that would help some. I take...

Warfarin and liver enzyme levels
Published (2009-11-22 20:02:00)
a quick google search revealed that elevated liver enzymes were reported infrequently during research for for warfarin Warfarin Warfarin sodium . I don't have any specific experience. Look to your doc for quidance on this one. Tracking it over time is going to be a the best thing, as liver enzymes can elevate for many different reasons.

40 Heart Episodes A Day
Published (2009-11-22 23:15:00)
Can you describe these "episodes" a bit more clearly? Since the doctor didn't seem to give you a name for them, perhaps you can describe how the heart feels when it acts up. Then we could share our own experiences and information that we've gathered over the years.

ablation
Published (2009-11-22 16:50:00)
I was like you and scared of having an EPS & ablation; even though I had other surgeries in the past. I put mine off a bit because I eeded to make sure one was warranted for my symptoms. The meds they give you will leave you very happy, carefree & painfree - if you have pain or feel much let them know and they give you a bit more. They want you to be as relaxed as can be...

Diagnosis of Irregular Beat

Heart Quivering and palpatations
Published (2009-11-17 22:29:00)
I'm no doctor, but from what you are saying it sounds like PVC's. You might want to do some research on them, and try not to worry, they are actually quite common Common cold and in the vast majority of cases- benign. Your drinking and smoking could in fact be making them worse, as will caffeine (even soda with caffeine or chocolate) I would avoid that if you could and try to see a doctor that can set your mind at...

Simvastatin was the culprit
Published (2009-11-22 10:17:00)
I forgot to mention that when I was taking the Lescol, I had no PVCs. But I do now, and in my case I suspect Nexium. I began having acid reflux a few years ago, and have recently begun having PVCs. Just a suspicion at this point, though.

Thanks for the advice. I actually just turned my Holter monitor back in on Friday. Of course, I had nothing happen Thursday night. Time for an event monitor again!

ablation
Published (2009-11-22 11:23:00)
I've had one EP Study (about 8 years ago) and one ablation (just 2 1/2 months ago) and was VERY apprehensive, as well as skeptical, about having both procedures, yet they basically went just fine. For the EP study, which took only a couple of hours, I was given Versed and fentanyl (like Ireneo) which is a very common drug combination for these procedures. Most people just float along and remember little, if any of their procedure and...

Also forgot to mention that my most recent EKG a couple of weeks ago shows Non-Specific ST Abnormality but the cardiologist didn't seem to be concerned about this either. What does this mean?

your poor daughter, that's tough. But when she's all through it she can take pride that she got through a tough procedure. She's brave and will be stronger for it.
Part of what I find intriguing is that it's common Common cold medical practice that when someone is under sedation certain heart arrhythmias Arrhythmias are hard to reproduce. Either the sedation is...

I just posted a response in the anxiety forum when I meant to respond here. This is a prime example of why we all have to be so pro-active when dealing with our health issues, like you are trying to do. We all could use a good old course in anatomy and physiology. Besides knowing the right questions to ask the Dr., we have to be concise, since they obviously don't have a lot of ...

Hi,
I was just looking at this forum just to get reassurance. I was just sitting at home and all of a sudden a whole run of PVC's I guess. Of course I started crying Colic and crying Crying in infancy hover_boxes.hoverize_link('term_3529130_1', 'highlight_term') because I think I am going to die. I have been sick Sick sinus syndrome hover_boxes.hoverize_link('term_3529130_2', ...

I'd say there is no way we can take "sides".
Have you tried both medications? Does one help more than the other? Answers to these question can bear testimony to which diagnosis is correct Correct (new formula) .
I am not familiar with either medication, and have not looked them up. If they are similar, e.g., both beta blockers, I'd say both can be right, and why ...

Sorry you haven't gotten some help here, the first step is to get the panic under control. Panic will cause may heart rhythm anomalies that will go away once the mind is at ease.
Basically I think your technical detail is overwhelming. Perhaps you'll get more helpful input if you post again with less technical detail and more what you feel... and what you know from past ...

Seeing you haven't gotten any readout of your EKG Atrioventricular block, ekg tracing Ecg Exercise stress test , I must say: ask your doctor, whoever did the EKG. They should explain even if they have to do it on a follow-up telephone call. Perhaps someone on the doctor's staff can answer that type question over the phone.
The reply will give you more time on page 1,...

I would also like to add that I did have mono when I was 15 and this problem does seem to get worse during menstruation, which made me think it was POTS.

I will post mostly noting the absence of post here and on your "poll". Seems to me like a good question or area of study. Maybe someone with experience will yet read.
I am very sympathetic about your ablation problems, and it adds testimony to the fact that the risks of ablation are real. In my case of permanent AFig, both a consulting EP and my regular Cardiologist say no ...

Sounds like you need to talk with your cardiologist.
From what you say, I take it you experience HR in the 200+ bpm range, if that's the case I'd get check as soon as possible.

Is it possible to feel like this? Absolutely, and most people who go through such a devastating life changing event have some depression.
Feeling and remembering what goes on in surgery is NOT supposed to happen - it happened to me also and I remember screaming STOP THE SURGERY! over and over and no one hearing me.
The staff of the hospital you went to would have had a piece...

I completely agre... I have been suffering with these as well. my PCP said they are actually quite common and usually nothing to worry about. He had me wear a 24 hour holter which of course showed NOTHING. I had been having bad bouts of PVC's for days before going to see him and of course the moment I put the monitor on, they stopped, and when i took the monitor off they started ...

My doctor wants me to start Simvastatin - Zocor - to lower my cholesterol. I have very high blood pressure.
After reading all the side-effects of statins, I am afraid to start using this drug. All the forums I have read about this are filled with people warning others away from statins because of the terrible side effects.
I cannot find any forums where people actually say...

It sounds to me like you may have SVT. I too suffer from this and have the same symptoms. It can be quite scarey and annoying at the same time. I have never woken up from sleep with an episode, but many people do from what I have been told. I suggest you tell your doctor what has been happening for sure and have him/her send you to a cardiologist. You may need meds to keep ...

I can't answer your specific question, but assume you have discussed the high HR with you doctor. If the 230 HR was for a sort time, it shouldn't be a problem, I believe.
How long before the EP study?
Call your doctor if you have any severe symptoms.

Sorry to hear this is happening. You sound alot like my son's best friend when he was growing up, he was a larger child, had problems with his weight, but was the most loveable kid there was; he had so many friends and had a sense of humor that was contagious. If he were still here, I would ask WHY are doing this to yourself, you're such a great guy and one day someone will see ...
