Lifespan of Crystalens HD
Published (2009-12-22 10:33:00)
The new models of those IOLS: Crystalens HD and ReStor +3.00 have improved the success rate a great deal over the old models and the (in my opinion) terrible ReZoom IOL. They do however remain much more expensive and complication prone than a standard monofocal aspheric IOL. Even with the new IOLs glasses are often needed for about 25% of the time. JCH MD

What are my options to correct Correct (new formula) high myopia (-7.25) with astigmatism (3.50 @90 degrees)? I have some thinning/steepness to my cornea, and dry eyes, I've been in progressives for 2 years, after approximately 35 years in RGP contacts until I could no longer tolerate. Intially I was thinking crystalens, but after following this forum I'd sounds like a gamble and that there may be better options for me, since I do...

Lifespan of Crystalens HD
Published (2009-12-22 11:06:00)
Here's a non-professional opinion: The ReStor provides a degraded quality of vision with a high risk of glare and halos (best case scenario). It is a bifocal lens, with no intermediate vision zone. I predict that multifocal IOLs like ReStor will be obsolete in a few years, and accommodating IOLs like the Crystalens will take over the presbyopia Presbyopia -correcting IOL market....

I'm due for another follow up in Jan for my periphal vision accurity as well as to see what my pressure levels are like, since they've increased the dosage of the drops. I'm sure that I will continue to add more drops as the doctor said that if this increase didn't bring it under control again, than he would be adding more drops to my current list of medications. No worries, I'm...

It varies. Most patients tolerate about 2 diopters. However, some do not tolerate a one diopter difference and some tolerate over 3 diopters. If you vision in the cataract eye is not too poor, try contact lenses and see how much you can tolerate.

My understanding is that all branches of the service will now accept potential pilots that have had lasik Lasik eye surgery - series to bring their vision up to standards. You will need to speak with a Navy recruiter to get confirmation but it looks like that without lasik Lasik eye surgery - series your 6/12 eye would disqualifty you

PD syndrome is not that much of a mystery and consequently there's not that much research to it. In eyes with PDS an anatomical abnormality at the angle- ciliary muscle-ring of zonules allows the to chafe dislodging the pigment which blocks up the drainage mechanism and clauses the glaucoma.
PDGlaucoma can usually be controled with meds and/or SLT laser.

You may need to go one of the other islands that has a cornea specialist Eye MD ophthalmologist.
Your problem is likely exacerbated by wearing the contacts. Lasik will likely be a good option. A new drop Azasite is often helpful for blepharitis and rosecea around the eye.
Most patients with 'rosaccea do not need oral tetracyclines maybe 20% do.

You were told correct Correct (new formula) . Is common Common cold . Is called either "retained cortex" soft part that often disolves or is easily vacuumed up later, or "retained nucleus" hard part that does not disolves and usually has to be picked out of eye with forceps.
Happened to me more than once and to every surgeon.

Depends on the correction and astigmatism. See you doctor and try it in the office. He should be able to adjust it.
