Can someone identify this please?
Published (2009-11-01 10:19:00)
Hello, Today I woke up with the gauze pad on the top boil filled with blood. I'm assuming this is a good sign? I immediately took a hot shower and cleaned the boil with anti-infection soap, I applied some rubbing alcohol, neosporin, and a new bandage. I found that I need a new bandage every hour or so because of the bleeding, so instead of reapplying a new bandage I'm just holding toilet paper on the boil and disposing of it after...

Published (2009-11-02 09:33:00)
Hi Soccerguy, I am becoming a broken record, but it took me a long time to have a similar condition diagnosed as granuloma annulare. Your bump looks larger than the multiple ones I suffer, but GA is characterized by reddish raised rings of tiny bumps, with a depressed whiter area in the middle. Some of them are VERY itchy. :(

If i had to guess I would think you have something else, which I have. It is called hidradenitis suppurativa and I have had it since I was 18 and finally got a diagnosis about 2 years ago at the age of 40. I saw a dermatologist and the surgery to remove them would be way too extensive so he was injecting them with a corticosteroid and it was helping. I now am injecting them myself and have had a good degree of success. (He lets me inject them...
