When I went through what you are going through the doctors did an colonoscopy on me and diagnosed me with ulcerative colitis Colitis Irritable bowel syndrome Ischemic colitis Necrotizing enterocolitis Salmonella enterocolitis Ulcerative colitis . Might want to ask your doctor if this could be the cause of your symptoms.

I am not sure what is going on with my body. I am 51 years old. I had my gall bladder taken out a year ago. Before that I had a colonoscopy that the doctor said looked great. For the past three or four months after I eat I get bad stomach cramps and have to go to the bathroom, there have been a few times when I did not make it, it is foul smeing and diarrhea, sometimes constipated but more often very oose to watery. Hi,
Cdiff can infect the pouch and manifest as pouchitis.
Though Cdiff infection commonly affects colon, it can also affect the small bowel (though rare)especially in those who have had their colon removed.

Blood in stools always needs to be evaluated.
Proctosigmoidoscopy has to be done for evaluation and the possible causes are hemorrhoids, anal fissure Anal fissure , polyps and IBD.

Hi,
Bleeding per rectum should be evaluated at the earliest by a gastroenterologist.
Since it is not bright Bright beginnings red, the source could be high up in the gut.
A full length colonoscopy may be done for evaluation. Polyps, diverticulosis, IBD and malignancy Hyperpigmentation w/malignancy Malignancy are possibilities.

Peptic Cause of peptic ulcers Location of peptic ulcers Peptic relief Peptic ulcer ulcer is a possibility.
Prilosec Prilosec Prilosec otc may be taken for relif.

Hi,
Some amount of mucus seen occasionally can be considered normal Normal saline flush .
Persistent mucus associated with other symptoms like abdominal pain, altered bowel habits is not normal Normal saline flush and may indicate inflammation of the large bowel.

If UC is confirmed, then the severity should be assessed.
Based on the severity medications are prescribed.

Hi,
As you said all the symptoms you have mentioned do not fit in to gastritis.
Altered bowel movements with blood and mucus in stool and abdominal pain need to be evaluated with colonoscopy.
The fatigue and 'sleepiness' you have could be due to anemia due to blood loss.
Consult a gastroenterologist and have colonoscopy done.
