To Mom in Tennessee. It CAN be hard to think of things day in and out to entertain little ones, but they love really basic things. For example, go to the store and spend about a buck and get a bag of pom poms. You know those little fluffy things they sell at craft stores and the big mega stores . . . anyway, you can tell them to...

I hate to say it, but sometimes as parents we are inconvenienced. Such as having to wake up at 5 am to feed our children. This would solve your issue.

my daughter is 4 and 1/2 and my son is 8 months old. she adapted very well to having a little brother. Before he was born I told her how she was going to have an important job of being a BIG sister. I would tell her that mommy was going to need her help taking care of him. I really didn't need her help, I just wanted her to feel...

Thanks for all of the advise. It does seem like you know what you are talking about. And by you raising two boys that close together, I'm sure you've had plenty of experiences raising them this far to give me the advise that you are giving me. I had never thought of some of the things that you are talking about here, so these ideas are great. You were talking about games to play with them, but what kind of games? Also, is there a...

She will do it when shes ready. The best thing in infants and toddlers is to let them go at their own pace and dont force it on them and dont get frustrated.

Adopt, I agree with Margy. Why don't you have professional medical newborn Newborn jaundice help, from the adoption agency, so you know what sleep intervals are normal for newborns, and particularly this newborn? It's incredible that you are coming to an internet forum for answers that should have been explained to...

My 4 year old son

Hi, My son is four and a half years old. He has been swinging on cupboards and walls so as to stimulate his penis Cancer - penis Curvature of the penis Penis care (uncircumcised) Penis pain , when he does this it gets hard. I asked him why he does it and he said it feels good. Also he does this when he sees older boys. Does this mean he would be gay? He said he thinks about boys when he is swinging. What does this mean and what should I be...

First of all i think the reaction of your ex-partner was horrible, to shame and embarass him like that.
(Your post) "if we make it a huge deal, it will be a huge deal, it will be something that could traumatize him well into adulthood. If we let it be smaller, it will be smaller...."
This is so true, i think the bigger deal you make it, the more it may affect him in the ...

My son did the same sort of behavior around the same age. He is 11 now and the excessive blinking just sort of went away. I did the same as you and gave him eye drops and took him to the eye doctor and was told the same things you were told. I think it helped to point out when he was doing it because there was a point when he became very aware that he was doing it and tried to ...

Theres your answer you are gay so that why you fantasize , perfectly normal , in your case as you hadnt been abused as a child perhaps you had gay feelings at that age. Put it behind you now it is and was okay to fantasize I suspect theres a lot of folks do, why does it worry you?

I should note that she does pee sometimes on the potty, so I am sooo proud of her for that, but its really 50/50 one time she will go sit on the potty....then the next with full knowledge that she shouldnt sit and pee on the couch, floor, etc
and it has been a year since she's pooped on the potty...she refuses, and will hold it all day until we put her night time diaper on and ...

I dont know where you live but mostly in the US it is not reccomemded that babies under 6 months start solid food, but if your Doctor said to start it ...if she wont eat the cereal I would suggest you give her more formula, until she is a little older, then you will be able to introduce other foods, i guess 3-4 bitesof cereal is better than none , mixed with formula. Others here ...

I think going to bed at 9pm is okay for a child this age, and maybe let her read for a short while or you read her some stories, does she get enough physical activitries during the day , so her body is tired aswell as her mind.As to the eating take her shopping and let her choose some foods, get her on a good Multiple supplement with B Complex and Vit C.. fish oil is also good . It...

Well, I took a Divorce class at my university a semester ago, and this sounds to me like your son is still going through a lot of normal Normal saline flush behaviors that kids go through when there mom and dad split. I myself have 3 kids, two of which are under 5, and one of them is a 4 year old boy, who is having emotional problems right now as well. When kids, especially ...

I would say that it's both normal Normal saline flush and not normal, depending on how long this goes on for. My daughter loves her shoes and wants them whenever she sees them, but she doesn't throw a fit about it (14 months too :) ). However, my nephew (3 1/2 years) is so obsessed with his shoes that he'll wear them until his feet wrinkle and blister from the moisture and he...

I don't think so. Does she point when she wants something? A good way to encourage verbal skills is to talk to them ALL the time. Explain as you are doing something or just chit chat. Also reading to them is so important. You could point out pictures of things or actually at things and say a one word description of what they are. She'll say more and more, I am guessing. ...
