Happy Thanksgiving! Just got off the phone with Beth and she is now out of ICU and has been moved to a regular Regular insulin room. She said she had a pretty sleepness night though - I think they have stopped her liquid Liquid barosperse Liquid calcium with vitamin d Liquid co-q10 Liquid e-z paque Liquid pedvaxhib Liquid polibar Liquid pred pain ( morphine Morphine Morphine sulfate Morphine sulfate sr ?)...

I have a small mass on the right side of the back of my neck Cervical spondylosis Head and neck glands Herpes zoster (shingles) on the neck and cheek Irritated seborrheic kerotosis - neck Lymph tissue in the head and neck. Melanoma - neck Neck lump Neck pain Neck pulse Neck x-ray Oral cancer . It is not visible but is easy to feel, the NL and NS say that nothing showed up on the MRI scan and therefore are not concerned. It gets painful...

I am thankful for finding such a great network of friends on here. Without you guys to converse with and compare thoughts with, I think I would be lost. It's always great knowing that I am not alone in this fight against Chiari. So thank you for always offering up advice and concern. It truly is a blessing. Sheila

The nurses said the same thing, that this had to be a record for release! nurse was nervous, but my mom is caring for me so that made them feel better! Pushing my fluids, taking my temp and she is even checking my blood pressure! LOL Thanks for all the support!

I"m sorry for not explaining better,,, but yes, selma,, I meant to ask about this big bump that I"ve had for yearsssss..It's located right below my "stingy hole",,, lol. I"m sure you've heardd that term before eh? Well,, its just below that spot that it shows as a big bump,,,something like buffalo hump. and this is before any surgery at all.. It chnages in size depending how pain I have...

Turned out he had a small csf leak for the last 7 weeks... They fixed it and he is a new man!!!! No more headaches or nausea!!!! Thanks for the prayers and good vibes

My surgery is the same day as Elizabeth, Monday Nov. 23rd. w/ Dr. Heffez but mine is at 10:30. Meg :)

Hi , I am so sorry u r having to witness ur child going thru such a difficult time.
Not being medical pros here I can only say what I have heard from other members....but he could have a CSF leak.....or a rejection of the patch causing infection.
Do u know what kind of patch was used? When a surgery is done for chiari, many NS open the dura and need to put a patch on it......

I am stuck on the words if it is done right u should never need it again....this is not a cure, and an injury , a fall can cause symptoms to start again...this is Y so many chairi specialists do recommend that we avoid certain activities.
I am sure he understands Chiari, keep in miind a NS gets paid to operate......
and a second opinion is good .....as long as that dr is ...

Hi....I wonder if u had a CINE MRI to see if u had a CSF Cerebral spinal fluid (csf) collection Csf cell count Csf chemistry Csf protein test Csf total protein Glucose test - csf blockage, or been checked for a Syrinx, tethered cord or other chiari related condition?
I am not sure how this dr is determining what constitutes the tightness or what would make urs ...

Most of my symptoms cycle,they may last days, weeks or months....I do have sleeping issues, I have times when I cant sleep, then maybe I get a few hours....this may last for weeks or months then I have times where I sleep for hours get up for one or two hours and go back and sleep.....

U can not blame urself or the dr at this point...it is wasted energy. Use it instead to get to the root of the current issue and resolve it the best u can.
The dr released ue son and felt he would be ok to resume his active sports life, but we r all different....and now seems not to be the case.
Wait until the tests all come in b4 u begin to worry about this.

Hi and welcome to the Chiari forum.
The biggest issue u have is that the drs r not chiari specialists...IMHO they r the only ones that can assess what ur needs r.
Have u been checked for tethered cord.
Many with chiari can have migraines and vertigo Benign positional vertigo Dizziness Vertigo Vertigo-associated disorders ...the room does not have to spin in ...

Have you had a VNG test?
Do you suffer vertigo?
Downbeat nystagmus is normally associated with Chiari but there are many conditions that cause it.
