Dear Sir, I have a bottle of wine of 1968 labelled Chateau Mouton Baron Philippe Domaine Rothschild. I suppose it's useful only for collection,I'd would to know your opinion as well as an idea about the price. Thanks Answer Hi Nia, I'm afraid '68 was an appalling vintage that started with a cold spring and didn't improve much so the abundant harvest was of dilute unripe grapes that gave wine makers no chance....

Old Madeira Wine

I have a wicker covered squat shaped bottle of Old Madeira Wine. it is Malmsey Solera 1920 sweet. H M Borges Wine Growers. Establ.1877. Can you tell me the value please. Thanks Answer HI Lynsey This is an unusual wine, and a hard question to answer. The simple answer would be that most wines this old aren't very good...and certainly not if they come in a wicker covered bottle. But Madeiras are not your usual wines....

Hello, I received a bottle of Bolla Bardolino last evening and was looking at the bottle and discovered it was from 1987 Vendennia Vintage. Bottled in Italy.
Can you tell me anything about this wine?

This is a lighter style red wine that is usually best when it is consumed within about five years of the vintage. It is soft, luscious, with some nice black plum fruit, ...

Hello -- I just discovered this web site when searching information regarding a bottle of wine that my father gave me several years ago, when they moved from Wisconsin to CA. I can't seem to find enough information to know whether this is simply an old wine of little value (maybe best used in a marinade for meat) or a wine of considerable value (assuming that it was stored appropriately). I am ...

What is the value of a MAGNUM of 1979 Renee Lalou?
Thank you.
Answer Moyra,
Many thanks for your question, obviously condition is everything, if the foil thet covers the cork, the labels, the level of contents is all good, then I would estimate for auction purposes in the region of £80/120, and would be hopeful that it achieved at least the top end if not more. I tend to estimate on ...

I have a painted italian wine probably from the 1960 or 1970's. Still is sealed. Came from casa vinicola bardi ubaldo...vald'elsa. It is unique because the bottle is shaped as an elephane sitting in a chair with a top hat, yellow pants, blue tie and suspenders. I am quite sure the wine is of no value, but wonder if the bottle is? I haven't found anything like it on the web. Can you help?...

Hi there,
I have recently come into the posession of a bottle of red wine, that hasn't had the best looking after, and would apperciate any insight into this bottle.

Appelation Controlee
Sichel & Fils Freres
Unfortunately it has no date stamp on it, so i am unable to say what year it would be, but ...

On vacation in coastal South Carolina, I came across a 5L bottle of Col-Di-Sasso Sangiovese-Cabernet (50-50)by Banfi, 1996. It was only $100 and has been in the store for about 2 years. I'm inclined to buy it just on the novelty (what a great Italian Dinner party!) what are the chances the wine's way past its prime and no good (hence the low price)???
Many thanks, Todd
