I bought a used computer and it seem that the user name was set to "User". User has administrator rights and when you browse My Documents it shows up as a computer user. So I change the user to Michael so now I can log in as Michael not user but under My Documents it still shows up as "User". Hi, I use (Windows Vista) excel for all my work related scheduling and billing info, I save current and previous 2 months files on my desk top and later transfer them into documents.  This morning I switched on my computer and all the excel files saved to my desktop seem to have disappeared, all I get is "Windows cannot find 'C:users\Emma\Desktop\December DW schedule.xls'  Make sure you typed the name correctly...

I currently have windows vista as my sole operating system, I would like to be able to have dual operating systems, adding windows XP, without reformatting my hard drive.   Is it possible to install windows XP on an external hard drive, and be able to chose the OS upon booting my system?  If so what are the steps to do this?  If not how can it be done so that I can have both windows XP and vista on a multi-boot...

Hi,  I just bought a new computer and it came with free win7 upgrade.  When the disk comes should I do a clean install or just install it over Vista?  It took days to download all the updates for Vista - were they important to keep?  Also does Win7 have the drivers or after installation do I need to go to Averatec and download drivers again?     Thanks Answer You should be...
