When started cold, It will runs for a minute or less, then flash code 128 and shutdown? Answer Hi Ben, flash code 128 just means that there is a code from the ecm, you will need to get it downloaded to see what the specific code is. in the mean time check your oil, coolant, and pull your ecm plugs out and make sure there is no corrosion in the plugs or in the ecm pins. aside from that you really need to know the rest of the code to continue....

Cummins 444 smokey when cold

Hi there, We have 1989 Cummins 14ltr @444hp. It runs very well, has good oil pressure etc. However when cold, it is extremely smoky. It is the STC type of engine, and I know the oil pressure regulates the injectors, but I am not sure which way to tackle this. Most of my local mechanics seem to know lees about the STC engine than I do!   Answer Hi Richard, It is probable that the viscosity of oil when cold plays a part in the snoky...
