hi, thanks for helping. Sounds like you will have my answeres. I have a vinyl tile kitchen floor that has become uneven due to small and long  craking of the cement underneath (one inch of gyp-crete on top of likely pressed wood ,,,50 year old calif ,, 2 nd floor.). I am planning to install new vinly tiles on top. Floor get subjected to refrigs in and out (apartment). I think i have to install a layer of plywood first? questions, what...

basement floor

I have a big problem. we have had water in the basement from time to time. had carpet at one time and removed it because of water. I then painted the floor with a latex paint. Not a concrete paint. Then I decided to tile it. The tile is a 12" self stick. But it didn't stick in all places, so I glued it down. Now the floor is efflorescing under the tile in different spots. What can I do to keep it from crumbling more and fix the bad...

CAN SOME PIECES OF 9X9 PARQUET FLOORING BE TAKEN UP & REPLACED. Answer Of course.  As long as you have some attic stock.  Its no different than any other wood or laminate replacement.   Go onto Kool Glide, http://www.kool-glide.com/-- this is a tool we and many other pros have invested in.  It makes the repair super simple.  Any floor pro has one.

tumble marble sealing

I was going to install tumble marble as a backsplash. I was told by a CSR at Lowe's I need to use a penetrating sealer before installing. I used 3 coats on the tiles but after they dryed, the color went back to the plain ivory color it was before they were wet. I then read that Michael said to change to color use and enhanser. I then stripped the sealer off and after drying used the enhanser. Now the tiles are all sticky and I can't...
