scared great dane
Published (2009-12-29 00:00:00)
I adopted a 1 year old great dane from a friend of my daughters, the owner needed to get rid of him quickly, she dropped him off here at our home and i did not get much information as to how he had been raised. He has been in my home for over a year now, but he is still always very scared of everything. He cowards into corners, will knock you over to get out of the way of a fear, there is not one specific thing that spooks...

pooping in new places
Published (2009-12-22 00:00:00)
I have had my sheltie mix, Lucky, for 2 months now. He is 7 years old. He is a rescue dog and I don't know much about his training. He appeared to be well trained though. He has NEVER pooped or peed in my house, not even at first. Recently though he has pooped in 3 different friends/relatives houses. He definitely did not need to go as he usually had just pooped sometimes less than an hour...

Crate training
Published (2009-12-22 00:00:00)
hello I.ve been trying to crate train my Boston/pug mix. When training during the day I can get her to go in, lie down, and I can close the door. When it comes time to go to sleep (which is why we wanted to crate train her) she doesn't want to go in. When she ends up going in she whines and barks for a bit before quieting down. Other than training we only use it for sleep (ie we do not use it for punishment). We have a "bedtime...

Dog training invisible fence
Published (2009-12-28 00:00:00)
We have a 1 year old mix lab we rescued from the shelter two months ago. She is very bright, well behaved, and gets lots of walks and runs outside of the yard. The problem is she has a habit of escaping our fenced yard on occasion. We installed an invisible fence and trained her on it. The problem now is that any time she hears a beep, like the morning alarm, the microwave, the TV she runs and jumps in our lap. How can we teach her...
