We have talked. I have no Automatic parts in stock, besides filter kits/atf fluid. To be honest I rather not work on it. If you want me to do the 5 speed swap I can. Or I can install a new auto. I am just afraid that it is a waste of time and it is done. I will contact Nat on Monday and have a chat. Most of the time he always tells me it is toast.

Glad to see someone else did this!! Good time with all the wet leaves. I did this on my first 164, and I painted the screen black. It looked good and it worked. I used velcro instead of duct tape on the side with the power steering reservoir.

I had a good Alfa week also. Went to the CT-AROC monthly 2nd Sunday brunch a 30 mile trip for me. Got their in record time skirting over cast skies and no dreaded salt trucks on the road. A good turnout for a change, 14 people! We elected new officers, it was a coup, sort to speak. Drove back home just missing a nasty ice storm. It started to rain just a I got on to my street. Whew! Drove tonight to pick up my son from UCONN and brought him...

I second the endorsement of Lino at Alfa of Tacoma, great service. The plural of Alfisto would be Alfisti, masculini = "i" feminine = "e"

The plasitic gear is attached to the speedo sensor, unless the wrong bolt was removed to get the sensor out. In that case, the plastic gear is sitting somewhere in the diff case.

What other drivers? All I have is 164s to drive. Well sort of a white lie as I have a 94 Ranger pick up 4.0 V6 w/5-speed but hard to compare a truck to a 164 but both have a purpose in my life. We had a 96 4.0L L6 GC Jeep which again had a purpose and my wife loved it even with 243,000 on it.

That's normal and the way it is made. There should be a black pin at 10 mph
that needle lays on when at rest. There is on 91-93 instrument clusters.

Last time this happened to me I needed a new tranny. What color is the
tranny fluid. If it is brown or close, forget it. It should be bright red.
Is the tranny light coming on in the dash board? Where are you located? I
would do a fluid change and see what happens. You should change the fluid
every 2500 miles. Sounds crazy, but the tranny will last forever. The
filter screen can be washed out ...

One of our members here actually owns a Thema 8.32
When the cars were new, they were twice the price of the Thema Turbo (which had an 8V FIAT twin cam 2L four), but the performance was not all that different (some reports have the acceleration of the Thema Turbo as faster). The turbo four was about 180bhp (later 16V turbo over 200bhp) and the V8 215bhp or 205bhp for the later cars. So I ...

Just go to Costco and get a standard sized Kirkland for a decent price. Has worked in my 91S for years now.
Some people insist on using the OEM recommended Interstate. Those can be found, but I've never had much luck with them. The one in my LS is very weak, always has been, and the previous one in the S was short lived. The Kirkland has worked much better. The LS will soon get one as ...

See http://www.alfabb.com/bb/forums/164-...n-mirrors.h tml for how they come apart. Split the housing first, then remove the glass, then unbolt the hinge.
"metal looking thing" is probably the hollow bolt. You are most likely best off to cut the wires, leaving enough length to join inside the door later.

The spooky thing is that I just read this thread myself this evening before spokeless's post. I can only assume that spokeless found the thread in the same way that I did - by doing a search for Craig's grab-handles repair message.

- you feel a strange sense of loss if there is no flashing red light in the vicinity of the temperature gauge
- you always stab the ...

I have a used rear L muffler section from my Tennessee car. It has an original forward flange and pipe welded to a Maxi Muffler universal muffler and the original tip welded to that. I'll take $35.00 for it shipped. It can be used as is, and is in very good shape. I can get a pic for you tomorrow.

If you must choose NGK plugs strictly for the idle or short hops where you don't really warm all the way up, then try BP6ES or even BP5ES. Heat range is important. For example I run your N9Y (or RN9YC when I want static resistance and copper core) for in town driving, but N12Y when I am going to run hard for a long time. NGK BP7ES is a bit cool for running around in town or could foul just a ...
