Good info folks! I will call them but it may be more work/money than I want to spend for a couple weeks of hunters. I reall just wanted to be able to tell them where to go and give them a bag of decoys. I will probably call the troopers to see if I can legally do THAT since ducks aren't big game. Once again thanks folks.

Here is a bufflehead I mounted a week or so ago.. Once dry I plan on putting it on a snow and ice scene.. Buffy was taken back in 2006 I think and has been in my freezer.. Also did a black brandt and merganser. Took the pic in the garage so its kind of blurry

Not sure: I do know that the Waterfowl regs read: "All Waterfowl hunting guides operating in Alaska are required to register with ADF&G before guiding clients" Waterfowl Programs number: 907-267-2206

at the moment i do not believe you are required to have anything other than permits for any public land use (park, refuge, etc) and a business license of some sort. there are no requirements for small game guiding other than registration, but you might look into insurance if you don't already have it.

If you are accompanying your duck hunters upland ... usfs roads to get there, walking accross fed-lands to the beach or tideflat or river, retrieving birds upland ... you will need a USFS Use Permit. USFS permit app deadline is Jan 15th. But you will need the State of AK Migratory Bird Hunting Guide ID card. That card has been around for several years now. Also you need to register with the State DNR ... for a Day Use permit.

the AK. BOG will look at last years proposal again, jan 29-feb 1 at the egan center in Anchorage.. this year it is proposal 52, to reduce the bag limit for seaducks to 2 a day, 4 in possession in Kachemak Bay. we all know this is a backdoor way to put me out of business. there is no shortage of seaducks as the waterfowl biologists have stated and as all my clients can attest to as we are having a...

I was on the hunt with duckdon and it was awesome. This should be something that every waterfowler has on thier list. The first day we sat in the blind and had two common scoters come in. Me and the guy sharing the blind fired our first shot and the sky erupted with birds. We couldn't keep our guns loaded. We would shoot at some birds coming in, and turn around and we would have another flock ...

Here are a few picture of my trip. The second picture is a day where we passed on deer hunting and 5 of us went out duck hunting. Great time.... The decoys are the ones I painted up. They worked so well. The other group decoys did not work as good.
